I don't use any local sayings, I say things the way I believe they are meant to be, and I have to say when people say things like "that's proper bad" or "It's doin me nut in" really irritates me. Even in text messages, I right words out correctly.

I am from Queensland Australia and WE say 'caning' as meaning getting beaten in sport by a big margin, such as: 'You should have watched the match - the Broncos gave the Cowboys a real CANING!'
Also we say 'How're ya going?' to ask if people are well and as a greeting.

Yeah its funny how words used in different parts of the world or even country are used for different meanings.
Thanks for all your inputs guys!
Just thought of another that Dawn uses 'minging' to mean yukky.

btw people over here in Oz rarely say G'day Mate or 'crikey!' like the Crocodile Hunter, we mostly use Americanisms its sad to say.
But we DO still say 'take-away'food instead of 'take-out' but younger kids are starting to say it.

I'm not so much a fan. I've moved to Lincolnshire, and apparently my accent is changing, which is probably why Barnsley sounds worse and worse each time I go back, lol.

As I said earlier, I don't use localized wordsd but when we moved here I was confused because people kept talking about 'roaring', took me a week to realize they meant crying.
