Thanks Carina, I had a feeling that 777 had some meaning attached to it.
I think book 7 is going to be really sad, with lots of deaths and depressing stuff going on and I really don't believe it will have a happy ending.

| Me too... And I don't like the thought of reading the last book... I've read HP for so many years, and now it's the last book!

You're welcome daadsta and jubeth.
Quote from: daadsta on November 24, 2006, 12:00:00 pm I know how you feel. I reread book 6 over the summer and I went into a whole new depression. Don't you love reading a book for a 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th, etc) time? It always gets your brain going! |
A whole new depression - that's an interesting term - I have to keep reminding myself that the story is not real - at least this one isn't, for many people what's happening here is all too real in some form or another.
You're right, reading a book for a 2nd or 3rd... time really stimulates the mind, you always notice things you didn't notice before.
I imagine that Harry will manage to kill Voldemort and save the wizarding world, but in doing so, he is robbed of his last strength, and dies in the process. I don't think this is because of the prophecy (neither can live ... etc. I'm not sure the Prophecy is necessarily true..) but it's just a feeling. I'd like a Happy End in the sense that Harry kills Voldemort, and Harry survives... but how likely is that?? Of course everything's possible... but I don't think that will happen. But who knows, JK Rowling may have a huge, unimaginable surprise up her sleeve.

I really like the theory of a special horcrux, which will surprise nearly everyone who reads the book. I guess, since it is possible for a human to be a horcrux, that Voldemort chose someone who might become important. [SPOILER for people who didn't read the 5th book] Somehow, I still hope that Sirius is alive. Maybe because he didn't really die and there was no corpse. [SPOILER End]
I also hope that there is a happy ending, but I don't know how it could be possible, either. I think JK Rowling wants to find an end which is possible but satisfies many of the fans, as well.

I haven't really got my head round the whole Horcrux thing, it's a complicated idea and I don't fully understand it.

In my mind, I'm pretty sure Dumbledore is no more (at least in his human form - Harry may still be able to talk to him) but I'm not so sure about Sirius.. if it is true that Sirius dead, then Harry really had most of the people he cares about taken from him and that seems mighty harsh..
Perhaps Harry is a Horcrux; if he is then that means that he'd either have to kill himself, let Voldemort or someone else kill him, wouldn't it... in order for Voldemort to die. Finding out the truth about this Horcrux business is going to be great!!
I've read so many theories on mugglenet over the past year, here's another I just found.. I'm always amazed at what people come up with! http://www.mugglenet.com/editorials/spinnersend/se13.shtml
Remember the dead bodies in the water in LOTR (when Sam, Frodo and Gollum travel through the Dead Marshes)? They reminded me very much of the dead people in the water that Harry and Dumbledore encounter in Book 6 when they try to fetch (what they believe to be) the Horcrux.

This may make things a little clearer. http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/devices/horcruxes.html

Is anyone else worried by the fact that Veronica got a pet-name/nickname for Voldemort?

if harry really became a horcrux that night i'd imagine that voldemort does not know of this fact, which is why he still wants to kill harry. after all it seems that voldemort still believes in the message of the prophecy

I knew that it wasn't only me who found that kind of special!
Maybe there's something between them?

I like to call Voldermort, Voldy, as well
It lessens the scare factor and makes him more silly/absurd.
