Me and my mum have LOADS of theories why Dumbledore isn't dead/will come back I AM SURE he isn't dead...
JK only says that because she wants to confuse us/surprise us...

Ehhh, I don't really think JK cares about tricking us, as long as we don't figure out the end of the book before it comes out. But each to his own, yeah?  We can only wait for the release of book 7 to find out.

Sort of is such a harmless thing to say, it's just a filler, it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things sort of means everything - like after "I love you" or "You're going to live."

I agree with Pamela compeletly and I relly believe he's alive and I'm sure Rowling is joking with us! Do you want me to send my old teory again?  it's all written in the books...wanna haer it?

Nobody knows for sure...there's a lot of people who think it's coming out on 07/07/07, but JK Rowling is still writing the book so it may not happen then. On Mugglenet there was a woman who works at Barnes and Noble that said they were recieving order forms for book seven, which means that it could be coming out soon, but that really doesn't mean anything yet.

My mum really believe's Dumbledore is still alive, but I think that sadly he is dead. I have mixed feelings about book 7, on the one hand I can't wait for it to come out on the other hand I'll be sad when it's all over.

I always feel that way when a series ends!
If it's a book or a series on TV, I always want to have the last one, but on the other hand, I don't want it to end.
At least we have the fifth film to "comfort" us

777 doesn't have a meaning. Some people think that it would be clever for the 7th book to come out on 07/07/07.

I just read book 6 again this week and now I'm depressed all over again about Dumbledore's death. Nobody believed Harry when he kept saying that Malfoy was up to something. Did Dumbledore believe him? I'm sure he did - but how come he failed to do something aginst Draco? I actually cried at the funeral of Dumbledore today, I totally forgot that it wasn't real! I'm pretty sure Dumbledore is dead and not coming back. Last summer I read up on many theories claiming he wasn't dead which did sound rather believable, but I think he's gone for good. JK Rowling does have her little jokes and I think she loves to read up on theories etc. (if she has time) but I don't think she'd joke about something as serious as this.
I think the number 7 is significant in some way. Remember Slughorn's memory where Tom Riddle asked him about the Horcruxes and about splitting one's soul into seven parts? Voldemort seemed to think that seven is a magic and powerful number.

I also have mixed feelings about the series ending. On the one hand I'm looking forward to Book 7 very much, but on the other hand, next summer there'll be the realisation that there will be no more books. BUT until then we have many things to look forward to!

Thanks for the link Carina! It was quite interesting. I know how you feel. I reread book 6 over the summer and I went into a whole new depression. Don't you love reading a book for a 2nd (or 3rd, or 4th, etc) time? It always gets your brain going!
I am also happy/sad about the 7th book being released. I can't wait to see what happens, but what will I do when it's over?  But we should not get ahead of ourselves. There is no official release date as to when the 7th book will come out...just speculation by fans. I wish we'd just get a solid date.
