Drats, Rach! Wish you could come. but then, I wanted ot make it to FOFF, too. Well, at least GB will be some compensation for my not getting to meet with you ladies.
And no worries, Dee! I already told my buddy no mosh pit! Though I might be persuaded to make the afterparty if I happen to be able to finagle an invite...
Incredibly hot here today too... I just about died in the heat Saturday for the concert, and even staying inside most of today was no picnic! I just can't take the heat like I could when I was a "young" Elijah fan... not that he was even thought of when I was young...

Lith, GB is playing as part of the Warped Tour with a bunch of other bands. i don't think you will be able to see them in all their glory that way. but you will get a taste. you may want to ask Deenan about that, because she saw them on the Warped Tour. |
the first time i saw them was the warped tour last year. and nettie is right. you get a taste of what they're like, but seeing them really perform is awesome! they are coming here the same weekend as FOFF, but really, i'd rather be with you ladies. besides, i can't get a plane ticket refund.

Oh dear! I now a visual of Nettie holding a bloody spatula that will haunt me the rest of my days. LOL
I think that, for once, you folks up north are hotter than we were, yesterday. We're getting it today. I had planned a mall run but now, I'm not so sure....

We're getting it today. | Yep, last night the office was like an oven. So humid my hand kept getting stuck to the mouse. No breeze coming in from the deck either, so I closed all the windows and cranked up the AC. Wonderful!
Overcast, breezy now and rain predicted for later. I hope it dispells the heat.

Oh my . Page three of the new thread and I haven't even posted yet!
I've just been so busy. My daughters birthday party is this week and I've been getting ready for ELF(at least I don't have to fly ) and have been working my butt off at the hospital. The heat and humidity have been really intense here. It reached 100 degrees yesterday so I had lots of respiratory patients come in the ER. It's suppose to be just as hot today
Lith-enjoy your GB concert! They are awesome to see live. I hope they come back to NY soon.
FMH-enjoy your trip! I hope you have a really nice time
Hi to everyone else. Don't know what all this discussion about eggs and spatulas is about....but it's making me hungry and scared at the same time. Will try to be back later if I don't melt in the heat.

I just came back from shopping before it got TOO hot! It's only 90 right now.
May I vent? When I was heavier, I thought the reason I couldn't find clothes is because I was of my size. I have been shopping three times in the past week and have bought ONE PAIR OF JEANS, and they don't follow the "rules". I hate straight leg jeans. They make me look shorter and dumpier! I'm looking for a lower rise, I truly am but they just don't exist here!
As for tops, don't EVEN get me started! I am so low on clothes now that I wanted to find a couple of things for FOFF. I have shopped till I dropped and found NOTHING!
FOFF WARNING: I am going to look like a bag lady. Apologies in advance! It isn't because I AM a bag lady, or because I don't care. It's because I live in a small town and can't find ANYTHING that suits both my body and my tastes.
Harumph!
Ok, venting mode off.....
Have a nice day!
Hugs, Rach

| Hahaha! That bag lady comment had me rolling. No joke. We will still welcome your bag lady clothes and all. Sad thing is I have been gaining weight. It's not a huge amount, but just enough to make me a bit uncomfortable. It was very very hot yesterday. I remember feeling jealous of all of the customers coming in with tans. Can't wait until vacation. it's so hard for my skin to just tan. I am so pale. Another crappy thing, and deenan can understand this, seeing everyone's vacation pictures everyday at work while you are stuck working. What a great idea to start up a new old thread. And I think I pushed my way in here some time ago also. I better get going to enjoy my day off. I've been spending way to much time drooling over the new Elijah pictures. Off to get burnt. Lilly

Rach, if it makes any difference, I just found out the doors open at noon and the show starts at 12:30! I wonder how long it lasts...
And there is a chence I won't get to go because we were just told today that our corporate trainer will be in our office one day that week, but we don't know which one yet. With the show beginning midday, I *might* luck out and get to take the 8th off and see it, but now no way can I take the 9th too! Still, I plan on getting a ticket, and hoping for the best.
Hope everyone is staying safely cool today.

Wow, I've missed a lot here. I need to catch up. My hubby has been home. It seems like I can't get anything done, even though he's been working outside a lot. Nettie, can I borrow your spatula?
We went to see POTC Dead Man's Chest today. It was very funny, but really too long. I think they could have done a better job of writing some kind of story that makes sense. But it was very funny.
Rach, I have trouble shopping. It's hard to find clothes that aren't old-lady looking, but not too trendy. I'm in between. I'd like some classy, comfortable, stylish clothes. It's hard to find that around here.
Hi Mumi. You are welcome here. We'd love to hear more from you.
Lith might get to see GB! Ooooo, you're gonna have fun.

*sigh* I have done a good bit of shopping online, but with this new and still changing body, I don't even know what fits anymore. I feel like trying things on is very important right now, which makes me even more lost.
It's weird because it's like I am in a bady that isn't mine any more. It's strange, unfamiliar. I wish there was somewhere you could get some actual GUIDANCE on this kind of thing.
I just saw your post after I posted mine, Nettie!
I'm glad all you want to is for me to be there because when we first arrive, we are going to be sorry sights. After 30 hours on a train with no where to shower, I think we will need to sneak up to our room and clean up a bit before we make an appearance. By then you will probably all be in bed. LOL
BTW, is anyone bringing their cell phone to FOFF? If so, would one of you share your number with me so I can contact someone if there is an emergency? If you would rather not, I certainly understand. NO biggie!
Hugs, Rach

Nettie, thanks for the spatulas. I may need several by the end of the week.
Rach, Sears and Land's End offer online "fitting" services. I'm not sure what these entail, as I've never used them. They might help you find your size, or what looks good on you. I used to buy clothes from Land's End, but I lost weight, and now even the smaller sizes hang on me. Yes, Rach, just show up. It doesn't matter what you wear.
I just saw your post Rach. Maybe several of us could exchange cell phone numbers before FOFF. I'll email you mine.
