First off Starladear loved the quote  a fellow angel fan you must be!!
It was me who said about euthanasia and i completely agree with what you said. I think if someone is ill like that they should decide if they wanna go on. I do feel there is big difference though, abortion is taking someone else's life/right to live.
I think in the right situation euthanasia should be allowed.

On the subject: I signed an anti-abortion petition in school today, to try and stop the British government bringing in the Abortion Act here in NI.  Not only do I disapprove of abortion, but NI have already voted that we don't want the Act.  It isn't fair for them to impose this on us.  The petition will involve a day fasting and praying and possuibly a rally in Belfast in October.

I personally agree with abortion if that is the sole wish of the mother as long as it isnt too far gone.

Given how traumatic my childhood was, I support abortion. My finance agrees with me, that if it comes down to it, when I'm pregnant and if there's complications, he'd rather save me. And not the baby. Personally, I see no problem with it. Here's a thought, if abortion's killing a baby, then isn't also, a miscarriage?

But a miscarriage is accidental, isn't it?

For some Bianca, whether or not the pregnancy is high risk or no risk they will always be opposed to it even if someone is a victim of rape or molestation. They think that once a zygote is formed it is it's own being with it's own thoughts so therefore it is a person. It is hard to reason with someone who argues morals or faith because they refuse to look at the scientific or psychological side. It is kinda like arguing Darwinism with a creationist. Even if there is proof to oppose their beliefs it matters not because of what they have been told to believe. To me though it seems like being told to believe those morals and such from the time you are born TAKES AWAY YOUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE!!!

Sorry, Starla and Bianca, if my comments have offended anyone. But I firmly believe that once the egg has been fertilised, the life of the child is as important as if it was standing in front of you.  Therefore I believe that abortion is wrong.  I understand special provisions are made even here if the life of the mother is in danger, and of course I consider that understandable.

No worries I am not offended at all.

but what you have just brought up about an egg being fertilized is a child, raises the question about fertility treatments. Woman who have a hard time conceiving harvest their eggs and their husband sperm, Woman often harvest 50-60 eggs the doctors fertilize them in a lab then place them in the woman's uterus 7 or 8 at a time this is why in vitro often results in multiples. That being said if the procedure works the remaining fertilized eggs usually around 30 are therefore 30 dead children

A miscarriage is an unfortunate accident that can happen at any time, no-one is to blame for having one. It is completely different to abortion.

That is so awful about the unfertilized eggs, in a way that is like abortion

Let me put it a different way.
Fact by Fact.

Doctors are bound by the Hippocratic oath or a loose translation of it.
Abortions are legal.
Euthanasia (human) is not.
doctors (most) see euthanasia as murder. Abortion  (by most professionals) is not seen that way.

Abortions that are performed in the first trimester has little to no difference to a DNC.
I honestly think when it comes down to it no one can honestly say what they  would and would not do unless they are faced with that decision alone. A lot of people who voted no might see things a little more clearly rather than through rose colored glasses. there should always be a choice, Choice and being able to choose it's part what makes us human, puts us at the top of the food chain because of our higher cognitive thinking we are able to make sound decisions.
