Hello everyone!
Just noticed the new thread...how's everyone doing now that the holiday season is on us. I hate to say I've been trying to lose weight to prepare to "gain" it back over the next few weeks. I have a weakness for sweet potato pie and stuffing and gravy.

i'm doing so badly! i just keep on eating!! it's aweful! haven't even thought about the holiday season coming up! gah!!

Wahoo! I found ya again! It must be admitted I haven't been on this thread for quite a bit. 
So far so good. About a month ago I added weights to my workout and immediately gained 3 lbs Fortunately, my trainer warned me about that "muscle heavier than fat" issue. So I didn't get on a scale until yesterday where I discovered that I lost another 5bls. Wahoo! Of course, I just got over the stomach flu which helped out a lot. But have definitely begun to notice alot more definition in my waist, legs and stomach. Amazing what a little lifting will do, eh. 
Other than that things seem to be poking along...not losing as quickly as I would like...but definitely firming up and losing in inches. Let's see where I am after all those Christmas goodies.

I went looking for this thread the other day, and I saw that the first one was closed! i was like . lol. I figured it'd be back, though ... and, sure enough, here's part 2! WELL.... i deffinitly have some weighty issues. I -really- need to lose some weight. i've gotten to a personal all time high. (that i can remember) ... and i'm positively miserable. despite my misery, i can't seem to make myself exercise! it's like ... i want to ... but i also really don't. lol. so i don't! my weight isn't decreasing. my pants are too tight. MY FAT IS SHOWING. =( lol.

I know what you mean Jess, it's really a struggle at times. Just do what you can maybe add a few extra steps each day. You can start by just parking your car farther away from your destination so you'll walk more. Those little steps add up. I have a desk job so I find reasons to get up and walk around a lot.

One of my co-workers calls exercising an "inconvenient habit" She laughs after saying it...but it is true. For those of us with desk jobs and needing exercise, half the battle is getting changed and heading out. At least it is for me....

Ok it has been such a long time since I have been here (6 month). I have been so busy working 2 jobs and going to school and taking care of my family and home.
I can remember a time (this time last year) when I had no job and things looked dim. But here I am now. I have a wonderful job I love, I have gotten my license(sp), going to school, went from a size 150 down to about 135-140 (depending on the days).
I have missed sitting day in and day out talking to all of my friends on here when I had no job. This has been the first time I have gotten to sit down at my laptop in a very long time. So I thought I would say hey to all of you my friends and to say welcome to anyone that is new.
I'm not going to sit and read every topic and answer so I want to say good going to those of you that is doing so well in your lives with weght loss, finding jobs, boyfriends, or what have you. I want to say I am sorry for those of you that are down on your luck and things aren't going so well right now. Things will be better, I garuntee it. I know I've been there. Maybe not as bad I have been there none the less.
So it is good to post again.

Scroll!!!!! I am soooo glad to see you post again! I had asked around seeing if anyone knew how you were doing...but no one seemed to know. However, being the forever optimist, I assumed everything was going well for you and your family. Especially since you spoke about going to school and new job.
Yahoo...glad things are going so well! Wonderful to hear that everything is going well for you! Congrats on the license, new job and weight loss!
And although I am not posting as much now as previous (busy RL lately), I did miss bumping into you online. I check email, my LJ and A&F roughly once a week now. Isn't it amazing what a difference a year can make?
Hope everyone is doing well! I am still working out and doing weight training. Not sure if I have lost any more weight...but am still toning up quite a bit. I don't plan to hop on the scale until after Christmas. Hmmmmm...wonder why?

Thank you Culpie and it is good to hear from you too. I am proud of you for doing so well on the toning and weight loss. Keep up the good work my friend.
Oh I don't blame you for not hopping on the scales after the holidays. In fact there is no good time to. For instance at the New Year you have New Year parties and food (eating). Then there is the Super Bowl with parties and food (eating. Then Valentines with choclates and dinners (eating), Easter with Easter dinners (eating). Then Fourth of July with celebrations and food (eating). Graduations with dinners (eating). Labor day with picnics (eating). Halloween with candy and parties (eating). Thanksgiving with dinners (eating). Last but not least Christmas with dinners and parties with food (still more eating). Don't forget all the anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions in between all these with still more FOOD and EATING!!!!! . So you see my friend it is never a good time to step on the scales cause we are always eating .

Hi Scroll, I thought about you the other day and wondered how you've been doing. It's good to hear things have really come together for you; but goodness you've been busy, busy, busy. Congratulations on the weight loss.

Helloooo...(voice echoing) Anyone around?
I was just wondering what folks are serving up on Christmas day. I have to work the day before and after and have to serve about 10-12 people so I've kept things simple and done most of my food prep beforehand. My meats are roast beef and gravy & Bar-B-Q spare ribs.

Mmmmm...sounds good, Romeny! My family is coming over on Christmas evening (6pmish) to exchange family gifts. So I am preparing Lil smokies; a veggie tray, chili, Buckeyes (peanut butter balls); nuts; cheese and drinks. My mum and dad are brining chips and dip and my sister brown bread with Macadamian nut spread. Hmmmm...I know I spelled Macadamian wrong...but can't for the life of me spell it correctly. Ah well....
I can't believe no one has been posting for awhile here! This used to be quite the hopping place. Perhaps everyone is busy preparing for Christmas.
