My definition of "too thin" is when it starts to affect your health. If you are 5'11'' and weigh 114 pounds- that is fine as long as your body is in good working order. However, if your menstrual cycle stops or you start having liver and skin problems...then you are too thin. Sometimes it's a fine line that separates the two. I would hope that anyone who is trying to lose weight (whether a famous person or an average citizen) would not endanger their body for vanity's sake or for a profession (actress, model, dancer, gymnast, etc....)

I'm agree with Damestelle, look me : I'm 23 years old, I'm 5'1" and I weigh "only" 85 pounds. OK it's maybe few, but I can't put on weight... or maybe when I will pregnant -> I eat correctly, even many candy and cakes, I dance and when I was young I mad orienteering running every sundays... and my mother was like me when she was young, so it depends of the person... How old has Lindsey? she's young maybe she's an age where her body make a lot of changes. And Mary Kate we know she is/was anorexic and we know it's very difficult to cure of it. René she's very beautifull on the pic!!
And don't forget it's Hollywood, the city of appearance...

I agree with damestelle, someone is too thin when it starts to affect your health.
Right now I weigh 118 (I'm 5'4), and actually plan to lose some weight cause this isn't my natural shape. I'm aware that the weight is normal, but I just don't like fat rolls
Quote from: Bianca on June 23, 2005, 10:25:22 pm | As for Lindsay Lohan's actually 5'4. Anyway when she was 140 she looked excellent. Now at 115, I'm really surprised. | No, I think she's a little taller than 5'4, if she weren't I wouldn't even worry about her weight. Actually I don't worry about her weight even if she is taller. It's none of my business, really, those people constantly have to lose weight to look perfect in front of the cameras, that's Hollywood I can only hope she's got people near her to keep an eye on her eating habits, in case it really gets worse.
Quote from: Bianca on June 23, 2005, 10:25:22 pm | Another example is Calista Flockhart or Nichole Richie. Nichole esspecially is, I don't know how to say it. They're my two other examples of too thin. | Well, Calista Flockhart might seem too thin to a lot of people but I actually think it's normal for her. My mom looks exactly the same way and she doesn't even watch what she's eating. Some people just don't gain any weight no matter what they eat. I was that way when I was younger, still don't gain weight as fast as others. Until I hit puberty I was always underweight. My mom actually lost way too much after her pregnancy with me, she was down to 85 a few weeks after I was born and she's about 5'5). She ate like a pig but had a lot of trouble to gain weight again. So, while some of you might label some people anorexic I would just like to add that some just have a funny system *lol*
Plastic surgeries are sad though, I don't even like to hear about having a surgery to lose weight. People shouldn't look up to celebrities and then blame them for however they look, though. I mean, all of you complain and say you don't like Lindsay's look. Well, if you don't like it, it obviously doesn't match with your definition of beauty, does it? Just find a different celebrity then if you feel you need to look up to someone, they're not all that thin *g*

I'm going to go against what everyone else is saying...
I think Lindsay looks good now. Or atleast in that picture Fiona posted. Her stomach is flat and her thighs look toned and they're skinny. She should have stopped there. (Psst... she does cocaine though...) I think runway models are beautiful... so tall and lanky. Why did I have to be born with this giant behind?!? Maybe it's the weird, f*cked up girl coming out. But I like bones better.
I find the media to be hypocrites. They post an article slamming thin-ness, than ten pages later they have a photo spread with some bony model. Wtf? Or, they'll write an article about how bad diet pills are, yet they're the first ones to diss Britney Spears when she gains 10 pounds. When will it end?

I find the media hypocritical too. Then again, I really don't know why people care. We don't know these celebrities. Why should it concern us where they take their holiday? It doesn't matter.

haha, guess what. I saw my little "ideal weight" thing... and i'm finally in it! MWAHAHAHA... of course, i still look a little chunky. I can go down to 152lbs and still be in the "healthy weight range" ... so i think i'll shoot for around 160 as my goal weight. then maybe i won't be chunky, but i won't like too skinny either.

Stop reading my signature. Don't deny it. You're reading it. I can see you. You're giving it the casual little once-over. How rude. Didn't your mother teach you better?

Because we live in a male dominated society and in Hollywood it's still mostly men who dictate what the standards will be. However men have thier own set of issues that we don't have to deal with...the grass is always greener on the other side.

True say Damestelle.
But still...women are always treated with less respect. You don't see paparazzi stalking down male actors while their in their backyard pool. Well, maybe sometimes, but the shots only worth something if they're with a women. (And then the shots worth even more if the females half-naked and wet )

I'm below my ideal weight, my BMI is low, but I can't help that. I don't think I look too thin, and it doesn't bother me at all.
