OMG during my school's fall play, someone's phone went off, and not only did he talk on it, he actually got up and paced around the auditorium, including right in front of the stage!

Well, I must say I think cell phones are a wonderful invention. I only use mine for keeping in touch with my husband, mom, and kids. I always use it when I leave the house, when my kids are in school, or when the kids are at my mom's house. Only about four people have my cell phone number. I don't use it to chat or have long conversations. But I do love having it. I like knowing that if one of my kids is sick or something, the school can call me right away, even if I'm out.
What I don't like is when people sit in a restaurant and have a long, loud conversation with someone on their phone, and we all have to listen to it. My husband uses his cell phone for work a lot, but if we're in a restaurant or something, he goes out to the lobby or outside to talk.

 I just thought of another instance where the cell phone pisses me off.When I'm standing at the check out at the store or better yet while people are shopping in the grocery store.They either are having an extened conversation or talking extremely loud when they know noone else wants to hear their stupid conversations.ARRRRGGGHHHHH!That drives me mad! I hate that my hubby has to have his phone on all the time.He is constantly asking where he left it or if I heard it going off.  If I hear "was that my phone?!" one more time I will throw it out the window!

I find mobile phones irritating when they're not permitted, like in a movie theatre. I also hate it when people are careless with them, for example, using them whilst driving. Not only is it very dangerous, but it's also illegal.
However, they're very useful. I own one, and it's great. I'm all for mobile phones, but not when they're not permitted.

just yesterday, a lady answered her phone while standing in front of one of our "please do not use cell phone" signs. she actually answered it saying only "i'll call you back" then switched off the phone...

Here in Germany its forbidden to drive the car and use a cell phone at the same time. What really annoys me is when people drive infront of me, using their phone, driving with one hand and not watching the traffic. Only yesterday this person took the corner so slow because he was hanging on to his phone. Where is the police then?

i love my cell phone. it is turned off right now because my parents didn't pay the bill and i feel really strange and disconnected.

I don't mind them, I just hate when people use them all the time when they really don't need to use them.
Like my one friend (who doesn't even own a cell phone so she asks to borrow mine...), if we're hanging out at someone's house and then we're getting a ride back home, when we get in the car she says "Can I borrow your phone? I wanna let my mom know I'll be home."
Why can't you use the home phone of the house you walked out of thirty seconds ago? Or why can't you just see her in three minutes when you get home?

When used in the right way, mobiles can be really useful and great.
Mine's nearly always on silent, so i don't distrub anyone if anyone decides to call/text.
no one does though.

AMEN to this topic sister.
all of my friends always yell at me to get a cell phone. i think it's stupid, b/c basically, i'm paying 50$ a month so those idiots can reach me at any hour they fancy.
i personally refused to get one up untill now just to make a point, that you CAN live w/o a cell phone. but now that i'm driving alot more alone, i need to get one so if anything happens, like my car gets a flat tire at night, or something, i'll have a way to call home.

I have one but I hardly use it. It's only for emergancy or if my daughter want to call me to pick her up and I am not at home.

my cell phone is the only phone i have, but i still never use it. in fact, i just got it after being without any kind of phone for 4 months.
i love my message.
