The assumption that vegetarians only avoid meat because animals are killed is simply wrong and this has been said here repeatedly. READ! 
Personally, I don't judge african tribes who hunt animals, however I do judge those who treat animals like crap during their lifetime because it's cheaper than actually treating them like animals. |
It was directed towards those people who are trying-to-save-the-planet. I'm not a dolt; I know that not all vegetarians stop eating meat because they think it's wrong.

I think it's crap because all this guy is doing is critizing everyone but himself and thinks he is like God or something and everything he says is correct. I don't believe any of his information because he doesn't even present straight facts that I can read...they are all wrapped up in his stupid opinon. He is such a hypocrite...he kills thousands of animals and contributes to billions of animals of suffering. As vegetarians, we prevent many animals from being slaughtered and tortured. And if animals really do get killed from harvesting crops...what can we do about it?

What do you think happens to a milk cow after it stops lactating? It becomes a beef cow.

I buy organic milk, and they specifically have dairy cows for the sole purpose of milking them. They treat them very well and they die of old age and natural causes. The cows don't get sold into a slaughterhouse. They get to live out a full life like they would normally in the wild..(if there are really any wild cows  )

As far as I'm concerned .. I like the way the Buddists feel.. we all are living things which have an important place in the cycle of life on earth... and to RESPECT other living things is number one... not that WE as a race of beings are number 1...

My point is that alot of vegetarians will critize a meat eater for 'killing an animal and hurting it' without realising that they're doing it themselves. I'm (obviously) not a cow, but I can imagine that milking hurts.

Hmmm,I don't criticize meat eaters but I sure do have something to say when they think all I eat is salad! Surely they know that there are other ways of getting protein into the diet.It just takes longer and larger quanities.Also seafood is considered meat for all who think it isn't.I get tired of the "oh well,I'm vegetarian but I eat some chicken and fish".Well,you aren't a vegetarian I'm afraid.Just my 2 cents.

You can ask almost any scientist. We are the dominant species. Obviously, that's the truth. Otherwise, Planet of the Apes wouldn't be put in the Fiction section at bookstores. I do see your point, though. We should respect animals, to an extent. I just think calling them equals and saying we shouldn't even use them as a source for food is a little much. Anyways, though ... I figure I just think that because of where I'm from.

LOL ... of course it would! I'm sure none of you would ever like to be milked, eh? Humans are equal to animals, according to your standards, right? I guess you shouldn't be eating any dairy products. They hook those cattle up to machines and they suck the milk right out of them. Ouch, right?

i have actually been wanting to be a vegetarian...just cause meat doesnt really taste that good to me (yet i still eat it ) and ive been wanting to lose weight...dont know if that will help at all, but at least its worth a try

Omg thats great! All the information you need is at www.goveg.com
you can order a vegetarian starter kit. (thats what got me started!) It will give u all kinds of recipes and help. You will most likely lose weight if you are a vegetarian IF you have a healthy diet. You must make sure you are getting the right amounts of nutrients, protien, etc. Only 2% of vegetarians are obese. Make sure you look up info on all of those nutrients so you know you are eating right. If you have any questions--just ask! Ill be here.
