Oh that will be awesome! I hope you have a great time! Sing your heart out!
Wanna hear something weird? The choir from my school is doing the same thing this weekend, going down to New Orleans and singing.

YAY I'M BACK..I just got home like two hours ago ...Thats really koolie? what state are you from? there were choirs from California and Texas and Minnesota and Florida and Georgia and New York (that was us) and thats all I can remember...thats kool! I had a great time! thanks guys...bourbon street *shivers* For those of you that dont know, Bourbon Street is this famous street in New Orleans (pronounced Or-linz, accent on 'or' ) This street is famous because its known for partying and drinking and sex n stuff...the street smelled like liquor and vomit (eeeeew)...of course, since we were a school, we were only allowed to go on that street in the day time...imagine what kind of rep we'd have if the principal let us go there at nite and I saw these two little boys get arrested...and the audience loved the performance...ok thats enough for now...I didn't wanna leave the place, because it was still fun..but its good to be back *waves*

Sorry I took so long to reply. Well, we sang at the Orpheum theatre in New Orleans. It kind of looks like one of the smaller halls in Carnegie Hall (we went to Carnegie last March ), only Carnegie of course looks nicer. We were singing patriotic-ish songs, because the program was a tribute to American heroes. The conductor, Dr. Will Kesling (who we worked with last year in Salt Lake City, Utah) read some of the names of people from New Orleans who lost their lives in the Iraq war. We sang the Battle Hymn of the republic (if you're not American you may not know this song, but Battle Hymn of the Republic sounds like 'Oh When the Saints go Marching in..o how I want to be in that number, blah blah) Anyway...not all the songs had to do with God. We sang this song from the movie Saving Private Ryan (which I've never seen). But the song was just a bunch of 'oohs' and 'ahhs'. We sang this song called Come Thou Fount (which you probably have heard of if you're Catholic-I'd never heard of it). I still don't understand what that song has to do with fallen heroes and stuff. But I like it for Christian reasons. And we sang these two really really koolie songs. One was called Tea Time in Boston. It's kind of a sarcastic remark about the Boston Tea Party. Which is an EXTREMELY important event in American history. Basically they were saying how colonists throwing British tea into the sea was simply a tea party. I love that song. and this other song, I don't remember the full title of it, because we always just called it 57 days. But its a song about war. The refrain is always "Good soldiers die". So cool. We also sang America the Beautiful. I don't remember the name of the finale, but it was cool too. Phew
