I´m catholic and I'm very sad and not because don´t accept that the people someday must die, but is lamentable that the world loses to one of the best men than has existed, the sadness to assume when the kind people no longer will be here, and there´s very few persons like him in the world . but I'm calm because he was suffering much so now he's with God, I'm sure, because the Pope really deserves to be in the heaven by everything what did by the humanity John Paul II takes our hearts rest in peace

I'm so sad!! The Pope is not longer with us physically, but he will always live in our hearts. I'm Catholic, too. Now, the Pope is one of God's angels, because he carried God's message to different parts of the world. He was a servant of God. An example to all of us. Rest in Peace, John Paul II.

this is so sad, i'm catholic, and i know it sounds stupid, but i always thought he could live forever. he's been sick for so long and he was doing so well. he was such a strong man.
he did so much for the world, not just for catholics, but for every religion and race. i think, by far, he was one of the most accomplished popes there ever were.
i'm sure he is in a better place with God as we speak.

Hopefully the new Pope will be just as good.
It's amazing how many people are paying their respects to the late Pope, shows how influential he was on so many people.

 Thanks Taf!

Ciao, I'm Italian !!! It's the first time I write something in this forum and I apologize if I made mistake with words . I'm from Rome and I´m Catholic (as the majority of italians are). I'm very sad for the Pope's death because for us He's a father, a friend!!! His voice is a daily guide for us!!! I'm so sad and surprice as the same time. I saw a crowd of hundred thousand people take the Pope into God's arms in a surreal silence of prayers, sharing his pains!!!! Rest in peace Karol Bye

Harry Potter is about WIZARDS who go to SCHOOL. Whereas the X-Men are MUTANTS who go to an ACADEMY. In contrast, the little Lord of the Thingy dudes are totally unschooled. A bunch of dropouts. All they do is run around in the woods, singing songs and eating special bread.

I'm not Catholic, as I've stated before. But something I recently read in the newspaper made me realize how much Catholics and Protestants really have in common. To be honest, I'm so quick to point out our differences (not that I'm prejudiced or anything-just human, sometimes ) that I forget how similar we are. I invite you to read this. I will type it over, because I feel it would be more fitting than to just give you a link, that and the fact that I read it in an actual newspaper, not online.
A Final Prayer from the Pope
The text of the prayer read by Archbishop Leonardo Sandri at a Mass at St. Peter's Square. Sandri said Pope John Paul II prepared the prayer himself before he died Saturday.
Dearest Brothers and Sisters! The joyous Hallelujah of Easter resonates today too. Today's page of John's Gospel emphasizes that he who was Resurrected, the evening of that day, appeared before the Apostles and "showed them his hands and his side" (John 20,20), that is, the signs of the painful passion that were marked indelibly onto his body even after the resurrection. Those glorious wounds, which eight days later he made the unbelieving Thomas touch, reveal the mercy of God who "so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son" (John 3,16).
This mystery of love is at the center of today's liturgy of Sunday in Albis, dedicated to the cult of Divine Mercy.
To humanity, which at times appears lost and dominated by the power of evil, of selfishness and fear, the Lord resurrected offers as a gift his forgiving love, reconciles and reopens the spirit to hope. It is a love that converts hearts and gives peace. How much need the world has to understand and receive Divine Mercy! Oh Lord, who with your death and resurrection reveal the love of the Father, we believe in You and with confidence we repeat today: Jesus, I trust in You, have mercy of us and the entire world.
The liturgic solemnity of the Annunciation, that we will celebrate tomorrow, pushes us to contemplate with the eyes of Mary the immense mystery of this merciful love that springs from the Heart of Christ. Helped by her we can understand the true sense of the joy of Easter, which is based on this certainty: He whom the Virgin carried in her womb, who suffered and died for us, is truly resurrected. Hallelujah!
I hope that, even if you are not "religious" or even Christian at all, that this touches your heart as much as it touched mine. We are all brothers and sisters. In Christ, and in humankind!

i'm Jewish, but my family and i (as well as my Jewish and non-Jewish friends) have always admired the Pope. he was such a caring individual and he really went out of his way to bring all the religions of the world together in peace and prevent anti-semitism, which is a very noble cause. and he just seemed like such a nice guy.
