Prince Caspian

I went to see "Prince Caspian", the Narnia sequel in the cinema yesterday. It was beautifully filmed and quite well-acted by the (mostly) young cast, but I felt it lacked something in the plot department.
Also, I got a distinct feeling of LOTR deja vu, especially when one of the characters said "You have my sword" or something to that effect! Not to mention other, er, coincidences, tehe! I guess that's only to be expected, as Tolkien and Lewis were good buddies, and wrote their epic fantasies around the same time...
Has anyone else seen this movie, and what were your impressions? BTW, I have only read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (and it's prequel story) out of CS Lewis's "Chronicles of Narnia" series.
Also, even though I thought the actor who played Caspian was exceptionally HOT, his voice sounded a bit like Puss in Boots from "Shrek" LOL! (Apologies if this is his real accent!!)

No laughing, Gem. I can't believe I missed this months ago. Well...I guess better late than never, right...hee hee.
I did see it months and months ago with my two nephews. While I did enjoy the movie it did lack something which I can't quite put my finger on. With the LOTR the changes PJ made didn't seem to effect the story telling....but some of the additions and eliminations of Prince Caspian did seem to change the whole theme. Does this make sense? It was almost as if there was all this action without any clear understanding of what the fighting was really about.
I loved the book. The movie seems to be lacking the plot somehow. The movie made Peter look like a spoiled unhappy teen...when that was really not the case in the book. The friction created between Peter and Prince Caspian was a little startling. The implied relationship of Susan with Prince Caspian was a little strange too. The children did their best acting, but I found the lack of story a bit disappointing.
I did see the LWW and thought it was a pretty good movie. The scenery and effects were great. The actors did a great job and the story followed the book very well. If you get a chance...it is a good one to see.
Whelp...that's my two cents. Has anyone else seen Prince Caspian and commented about it? I would be curious to read some other opinions.
Toodles for now!

I saw it and i agree that the previous movie was so much better , and i find that last kiss between Susan Pevensie and Prince Caspian is out of meaning ...there were no introductions for any kind of relation between both of them !!!
but the performance of Wiliam Moseley was fantastic , he is a very promising actor

I also like the actual performances of the children. It would have been nice if they beefed up the plot behind each character. I am really interested to see what they do with their careers after this series is completed.
Do you think that the change in directors is going to make a big difference?

You are SOO right Gem! LOTR Dejavu is EXACTLY what I thought of the movie too! Right down to the "epic battle scenes" there was even a Theodin vs. Caspians uncle comparisons somehow. Caspian wasn't unlike Aragorn.
They had all these scenes with pple falling off of the tower except instead of hobbits and elves and orcs they had chipmunks and centaurs and dwarves (Oh my!)
