Well, I'll tell ya I am a tough sell...that is I do not cry easily..I was raised that to show emotion was an embarrassment...It is one of the ways that LOTRs has helped me imensely.
True heart felt films of love and loss touch me, but those left behind in the films must convince me that they feel it.
Sam Feels it in ROTK, Frodo feels it in FOTR so many times his sense of loss is palpable.
Gladiator made me weep, his utter loss at discovering his family murdered touched me.....
Braveheart ripped me up several times and remains one of my all time favorite films.
Now I just happen to be watching one of my favorite Elijah tear jerkers, now as I respond to this post I am watching "The War". I had never seen it until I started looking for all of Elijahs older films to add to my collection. When I watched it...it was so raw and painful..I cried at least twice the middle and the end get me every time.
Like I said its not easy for me to 'feel' it and I am always glad when I do...Its hard as an ER nurse to let go, you spend so much time holding it all in it is great to find that release in tears, tears for the film characters and for all the other pain suffering and loss I see all too frequently...............

I almost NEVER cry in ANY movie. Even Lord of the Rings. I think in a few parts I may have gotten a little bit watery eyed... but most of the intense emotions were just making my arms and hands twitch like crazy against the arm-holders. That jittery excitement...
I probably have a movie (or two) that's slipped past my memory of how I reacted to it, but I've only actually cried tears in two movies. One of them wasn't really even because of what was going on in the movie. It reminded me painfully of something else. The other one, The Forgotten, made me actually cry because the girl in the movie was traumatized by a horrible and graphic death of someone else and she made me feel for her. I get uncomfortably emotionally triggered by little girls crying. Like in War of the Worlds with Dakota Fanning. I don't know why.

I'm the same way. I never cry during movies. I usually don't even get misty eyed. Possibly because I've never worn my heart on my sleeve, and I'm VERY good at hiding all emotion. I wasn't even remotely tearful during the Grey Havens scene. I feel like a hardened person lol
There has only been one movie that made me cry like a baby, and that was Titanic. It's kind of strange though - I've seen it too many times to count, but it only made me cry once, and it wasn't the first time I saw it. I guess I was just overly emotional that day.
Other than that, I've never cried during a movie. Movies dealing with love, loss, regret, and injustice sometimes get me misty eyed though.

Hi
It depends on what mood i am in when watching a film but i no longer cry watching LOTR seen them too many times i am imune.only on rare occasions do i cry watching them now.
Generally true story films (specially ones with kids or babies in) if an animal dies too gets me every time.
I cried when i watched the remake of King Kong at the cinema, good thing it was loud or i'd have been embarrased. The bit where he was took of th island i thought it was cruel. Should have been allowed to stay. And when he fell of the Empire State building at the end.
Also cried during last convertations in United 93 and during the interviews with families of victims, really upsetting.

(at the end of the return of the king) i cried with the titanic, brokeback mountain, moulin rouge, flipper, ... i cry with many movies specially when u have to say goodbye for a very long time or when some one dies (an animal or a human)...

Hmmmm...I don't cry much...but certain types of movies make me misty. A couple of them:
Finding Neverland (OM goodness..sniff sniff) Roman Holiday Lake House (when I thought the ending was a certain way) Signs (the scene about the death of his wife) Rudy (his trial got to me)
That's about all I can remember.
Sniff sniff...now I have to go watch something happy.
