I remember going to see this movie at a "special" showing at a theater.  There were shots from the movie, and quotes - I was so mad that they told me Satine had died before I'd even got the chance to see it.  I also heard the "Roxanne" song...and I thought it sounded so weird!  I gained more appreciation for it after I watched the movie.

I think Ewan was great in this!  I am glad Elijah wasn't in it - I don't really like his voice that much.  That Green Fairy thing - I actually recognized Kylie!  My friend didn't believe me.  We had to look it up on imdb.

I like the Baz Luhrmann movies and Strictly Ballroom remains my favorite.  It's so funny!  I saw it again recently.  So good.

i absolutely dislike the movie to da max!!!!! well, b4 i watched it i thot it was all mushy and sad, like a tragedy. so i prepared myself to watch it like a tragedy... afta watching it, i found out dat it was more like a comedy/musical... jus made me so mad!!! if only someone cudve told me it was not sad XP the only thing gd thing dat got out of the movie was the song "lady marmalade"

You really should have worked out that it was going to be strange because it was a Baz Luhrmann film. I mean - that's like his trademark.

I liked this movie, but I love Nicole, and Ewan so it was king of expected.

Richard Roxburgh creeps me out - really really creeps me out.

I guess it doesn't help that my psychotic ex-step-father's last name was Roxburgh lol

Is he the guy that played...um...I forget his name...the big, loud guy?  With the red jacket?  I can't believe I don't remember!  Harold?

He was funny.

I think he was the Duke. Anyways, I saw the ending of the movie on vh1 a few days ago, and it seemed like a good movie

Ah, I'm watching the beginning of this movie. It's amazing so far. The same makers of Romeo + Juliet! I love Romeo + Juliet!

I got myself the Moulin Rouge dvd yesterday and I sooo love that movie. It always takes me some time to get used to Baz Luhrman's style but then I just love it!

Awww, and Ewan McGregor is just soooo hot in that movie, I was melting in front of my TV, esp. when he was singing

I am, Ashley  !!
I really love that movie ! i like the concept : taking very well known songs and make a musical comedy with it !
Plus, Nicole Kidman and Ewan Mc Gregor are great !

I like all the songs, i think.
Nature Boy
Your Song
Children Of The Revolution
One Day I'll Fly Away
Come What May
El Tango De Roxanne (i love the voice of the singer!!)
Lady Marmalade
Spectacular Spectacular
Like A Virgin
Meet Me In The Red Room
The Show Must Go On (gorgeous version of that wonderful song!)
And, the music of the closing credits : Bolero

hehe, I don't know I would do if there was a world without Moulin Rouge.  I love it so much.

My fav. song has to be Come What May and El Tango de Roxanne.

My fav part has to be the end.  From the part where Christian is talking to Toulouse untill Satine dies.  Esspecally when Christian, is all like "This woman is yours now. I've paid my wh*re. I owe you nothing. And you are nothing to me. Thank you for curing me of my ridiculous obsession with love. "
