Empire Records was hilarious. i used to have a thing for Ethan Embry. he was adorable. i really like the film's soundtrack too.

Quote from: That is so fetch on May 15, 2004, 12:46:02 pm the movie I would have suggested. It was great.
Quote: Velvet Goldmine- came out in '98 or '99 and starred the ultra hot Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, and Christian Bale. it tells the story of a journalist (Bale) tracking down a reclusive Glam Rock singer named Brian Slade (Rhys-Meyers) with the help of various people, including one of Slade's former songwriting partners (McGregor). it's a really flashy and cool film. Rhys-Meyers' Brian Slade is reminiscent of David Bowie while McGregor's Curt Wild is a cross between Iggy Pop and Kurt Cobain. and the soundtrack features classic Glam Rock from Lou Reed, Brian Eno, T. Rex and Roxy Music, as well as current songs from Shudder To Think, Placebo, Grant Lee Buffalo, and Pulp. it's such an awesome movie! and yes, Ewan McGregor is naked in it.

As for VG... if Brian Slade hadn't been such a sook I would have liked it more, their portrayal of Bowie really bugged me. Ewan was fantastic - but I wasn't aware that he was supposed to be Kurt Cobain-ish, I just thought that was a fluke because he happened to look like him and share a first name...
