I watch it!!!
This year seems kind of wierd, though. Some of the people aren't NEARLY as good as some of the previous top 12's.
And I don't know what everyone's problem is with Simon. He may be quite negative, but most of the time he speax the truth. He says what you need to hear. But I do admit, he does have a bad attitude.
I'm rootin' for the 16 year old. What's her name? Amanda? She is so cute and such a GREAT voice for a girl of her age. And that Jon Peter Lewis guy is SO adorable. Doesn't have the best voice, but he can sing and has great personality.
Cheers!!!

Diana?
Quote from: HerMajesty on March 11, 2004, 09:17:54 pm Arrrrgh, I hate American Idol. The only reason I watched it last season was to root on Clay<3, whom I voted for about..fourty times every Tuesday. Obviously, he didn't win, but y'know, America has its bouts of very, very poor judgement (i.e. Ruben Studdard).

I liked ruben, his voice is more soulful..

I liked American Idol last year. But I hate it this year. The judges place way too much importanvce on how the participants look like (paticulary in the auditions). In my opinion, it's the talent that counts, not the looks...

Regarding Diana Degarmo's final preformance.

I found this.
Quote:REGARDING DIANA DEGARMOS LAST PERFORMANCE!!
My friend Janet was at the rehearsal for the finale today (she's a Fantasia fan keep in mind) but she told me that something happened that no one knows about but the people that were in the rehearsal .. she told me so I HAVE to share because I can't BELIEVE this .. it's regarding Diana DeGarmo.
Janet told me that during rehearsal Diana's last song "Don't Cry Out Loud" was PERFECT and she nailed it. Everyone was in awe. But the minute she stepped on that stage after her first 2 songs to perform it LIVE they changed up the song mojuluation on her and it went flat and Diana started freaking out. They also made the song longer .. they didn't TELL her and they changed it up on NATIONAL TELEVISION .. LIVE! They also planned during certain parts in the song where Diana fell flat because of this to turn up the volume so it was made noticeable.
Janet told me after she performed, Diana's mom told her this and John Steven's mom and Carmen Rasmussen's mom commented on this as well (since they all were also at the rehearsal).
I'm sorry, but the show had NO RIGHT to do that to her regardless of the fact they want Fantasia to win. To pull that on someone is unacceptable.
Please feel free to copy this message Diana fans and post it ON ANY MESSAGE BOARD YOU WANT. I got permission from my friend and she said this needs to be leaked out in the media and other fans. As a Fantasia fan she said her friends and herself found this to be "incredibly wrong" of the show to do.
What the producers will do to get their way .. it sickens me. Let America decide who they want. Don't pull stupid crap to try to sway the voting.
And another side note, I found the judges comments to be incredibly inappropriate after her last song .. HER LAST SONG IN THE TOP 2 OF AMERICAN IDOL .. HER ***LAST**** PERFORMANCE AND THEY CAN'T FIND ONE GOOD THING TO SAY?!?! Terrible. |
I believe it. Any one else's input?

American Idol is pointless. It gives the stars their 15 minutes of fame, and after that, all you can really do is just sit back, relax, and watch them fade away. If you really want to show that you've worked hard to get where you've gotten in the music industry and that you should be respected as an artist, then why are you on a game show? That's really all it is.
Plus the majority of the show is just a bunch of fake bologna, so... whatever.
And of course there's the thing with the auditions, where they let the crappy or fake jokers through round one just to make the taped stuff more interesting.

I don't know if I believe that post about Diana DeGarmo. Granted, I didn't watch much of this season (a few minutes of random episodes here and there as well as the last two episodes) and I absolutely hated the outcome of Season Two, yet.... What motive would the execs and the rest of the crew have to purposely tamper with Diana's performance?
That and... why should the judges acknowledge her performances glowingly if they didn't feel that way? Clay constantly received flack from Simon up until the very end; it's just the way it is. The judges shouldn't have to censor themselves simply because it was Diana's last chance to win.
I also think this proposed spreading of a rumour (until it's proved, it's only a rumour) is immature. On one hand, I can understand how fans of Diana would be upset - I am (obviously) still annoyed by the way Season Two ended - but as it's been said many times regarding AI:
If Diana is truly that good and/or if the public still thinks she's worth its money, she'll make it. You don't need to be crowned America's Idol to be successful.
Just look at Clay; he was runner-up and he's sold waaaayyy more albums than Ruben. He's also lasted more than his fifteen minutes of fame, which is more than I can say for Ruben and Kelly...and definitely Justin Guarini. (I know, I know - WHO?)
