Rupert Grint in "Driving Lessons"

I really can't help but brag on this little film. It's just the kind of movie I like, I suppose, very personal, a bit quirky. Rupert is quite wonderful in a character that is, frankly, no much different than Ron. But what suprised me, which shows that I should. pay better atention, is that Evie, the ecentric actress for whom Ben works, is played with delightful oddity by Julie Walters.
The surprise was that Miss Walters ALSO plays Molly Weasley, Rupert's on screen mom in the Harry Potter films. I've always adored Molly and now I know why Evie looked so familiar. LOL
Love this film! I just wondered who else has seen it?
Hugs, Rach

I've seen it and I love it! Rupert is, of course, very talented, and I'm a big fan of Julie Walters, the two really have great chemistry. It is very different and quirky, and poor Ben is forced into doing so much that he doesn't want to, by his mum and Evie, like when she swallows the key when they go camping.

No, I agree, I think Ben was a bit of a deeper charcter than Ron, Ron never seems to say much or think much, but Ben was a great character.

I think that there is a lot of the "new" Ron in Ben. In the special features, the director says that Ben spends the first third of the film barely speaking. I have a feeling that it may have effected the way Rupert plays Ron now.
I have some screen caps of "Driving Lessons" Would any one be interested in seeing them?
Hugs, Rach

I love him in the green shirt. The color really suits him.

It was a WONDERFUL film, Maryd! I want to buy it for my collection. It's already become one of my favorites!
Now, a few more caps of Rupert as Ben.

More tomorrow. We need to keep ourselves amused until Saturday! LOL

Yes, I mean until the book comes out. My copy is now only about 70 miles from here. If it ddoesn't get here Saturday, I'm making the claim with Amazon to get it free! LOL After Saturday, I may be a bit absent until I finish the book.
Yes, Rupert is ADORABLE in this. There's a lot of Ron Weasley in the part, but also a lot that isn't. I wish it would come on here so I could record it.
And the last of the caps. In the one with the bicycle, Ben is dressed as a tree. LOL This movie is very thoughtful but it's very funny at the same time.I want to see Rupert do more, though I suppose time is short while HP is still going...

Yes, I did like that bit where he was playing a tree..,. I thought the actress that played his mother, sorry I don't remember her name, was very good.
