This came to me today through one of my HP feeds. It talks about an interview with The Sun (London) in which Rupert porportedly said negative things about Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton , Emma Watson, and Jesse Cave (Lavendar Brown in HBP). Now, I read *A* Sun article but the things he said, frankly, weren't that bad, I thought, certainly not about Emma or Miss Cave. Mainly he said, in the article I read, that he was nervous about the kissing scenes with Emma looking on which I thought was totally understandable. He DID say some bad things about Lindsey and Paris.
ANyway, apparently not only DIDN'T he say these things, but he's hopping mad about the article.
Here's what came through the feed.
Recently, the tabloid The Sun, ran an article which contained alleged quotes from the actor, Rupert Grint, who plays Ronald Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, that contained defamatory remarks toward co-stars Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) and Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown), as well as additional alleged negative comments about Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton. In a press release today, representatives of Rupert Grint say that "Rupert Grint wishes it to be known that he has never met Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton and has not nor would he make any negative comment about them as has been stated," and that "he will be taking action against those parties spreading these falsehoods".
I did NOT see defamatory remarks about Emma or Miss Cave in what I read, just that he was nervous about the scenes.... I'm confused.
Hugs, Rach

Well, it is 'The Sun', Rach! I don't personally think Rupert would ever have said anything derogatory about anyone - he's much too polite. Thanks for the news anyway - oh, and the last set of pics, which I must have forgotten to post my thanks for!

You could say that, lol! It's a tabloid. And it doesn't sound like something Rupert would say at all - especially not about Emma, they seem such great friends, after having worked together for so long.

I probably shouldn't ask this but just what did he SAY about Emma? In the article I read, all he said was that he was nervous about doing the kissing scenes with her looikng on.
Actually, my question should be, "What did the Sun SAY Rupe said that he DIDN'T actually say?"
I guess I just wonder what all the uproar is about....

Good news on the Rupert front!
He is working on a new film seperate from the HP world. Here's the blurb.
RG.net have informed us that Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films) is working on a new film project titled Cherrybomb. The film is set in Belfast and is a gritty thriller about two teenagers who get into trouble when they both fall for a beautiful new girl in town.
Production is expected to wrap in August and the film should be released sometime in early 2009.
Rupe will be WONDERFUL in a "gritty thriller"! Can't wait to see this. Hopefully it will come out here, too!
Hugs, Rach

Thanks for the news Rach! Sounds great, doesn't it? I wonder will he have to put on a Belfast accent? I hope it is widely released.

Driving Lessons came out in 2006, Mai. If you get a chance, see it. It also has it's own thread, Drving Lessons.
I'm just depressed because I accidentally taped over my copy. That'll teach me to label blank tapes more clearly.
