Ai! I went over to my friends birthday party thing and her little brother was watching this movie and the instant Elijah came on screen I was like 'What movie is this? Oh... I should know what movie this is' And only until after it was all over and I got home and looked up on the internet (of his movies, because it wasn't here where his tv appearences are supposed to be) and I was very glad that my friend had her birthday! Heheh... even though I missed the first half hour (or maybe more... I don't know when it started) I was sooo happy.
And he was such a cute li'l kid in that movie. (That's the "correct" wording, right? Don't wanna sound like a pedophile at 15... x.x) Heh...

I don't think you can be a pedophile at 15.
Maybe if you tried really hard.
I dunno.
I've never seen it. I'll keep an eye out. Ouch.

Wait...was he younger than ten in this movie? Is that it? If not...I wouldn't worry about being a pedophile.
Heh, you say 'gah'. That's excellent.
So this is an old movie - that's probably why I don't remember it.

I saw part of it on TV. I'm gonna purchase the DVD online. The few minutes I saw drove me to tears. ~Sakinah

Last year my English class watched two films to have huge discussions and questions about, and The War was one of them. Rudy was the other one As you can imagine, I had lots of fun doing it!

Jes, I`ve seen it. He`s just a kid and plays so extriemly good.
The movie is agressiv. All the kids are agressiv. Is this normal in USA? I dont know this so much in Germany.
I like to see Eli playing but I can not see the agressiv kids once more. So I will not see it again. They are soo stupid!

i loved the war. it reminds me of all the hot summers i spent in alabama visiting my grandmother. we did things like that all the time, so it's a bit of nostalgia for me.
elijah had me speechless when he lashed out about his dad dying. he was so incredible there. good work lij!

Hi Birgie, I wouldn't call the film agressive. I have seen far more agressive once. The War is one of my favorite films. The story is touching. The kids act agressive ok, but remember they never had much love from their dad. There is this scene when Kevin buys the little ones some sweet and you can just feel they are uncomfortable with this situation. Also, I do believe we do have agression like that in Germany.

Oh,I saw that movie! At first I was just flipping through channels looking for something good to watch.I stopped when I saw 'Lij.Only,I didn't realize it was him.So I kept on watching and like 5 minutes later i said "Oh! That's Elijah Wood! OMG!" I got all into the movie and everything. It was a good film though.I cried, and laughed, and said "Aaaww" practically every five minutes.Lol.

--> I love the War too. One of my favourite movies. I think it's great that you got to do all of these things , you know what my fav bit is? Apart from any scene involving Elijah it's the one where the three girls sing that song about love being an itching in their hearts which they can't scratch. that was soo good!
elijah had me speechless when he lashed out about his dad dying. he was so incredible there. good work lij!
--> yes me too. the tears come everytime and also when he saves the little boy Incredible acting! I always forget for a second that it's not actually real.
It's funny that this thread is alive again because just this morning I was going to ask a question about the movie.
You know in the classroom when the teacher puts down Elvadine (not sure about the spelling), they are discussing a book called "Why my life is like a bowl of cherries.." What does that phrase mean exactly? Thanks.
