According to a Happy Feet-related interview, Elijah has completed the voice-acting job for yet another animated movie, supposedly directed by Tim Burton and sci-fi. Called Nine.
Anyone know more about it?

Elijah Jordan Wood (Characteristics) - too mindbogglingly, devastatingly gorgeous to be plain human. Possibly one of the few recorded cases of a male succubus, thus to be treated with extreme caution....mind the eyes!

tim burton is the producer and shane acker directed it.
9 was released in 2005 as an animated short feature running about 10 minutes. it was nominated for an oscar. at that time, there was no dialog, but now it's being remade into a full length animated film with dialog.

Tim Burton's film (of which he is the producer, as Deenan says) is "9," though, not to be confused with the upcoming film version of the Broadway musical "Nine." Given the similar titles, it wouldn't surprise me if they ultimately re-name the animated feature. Which is a shame, really - I love when Elijah plays a title character.

Yup, "9" is the title character.
If you're interested, the original short by Shane Acker is available on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=964QHmjLqa0
I'm not sure how spoilery it will be for the film, as it's only 10 minutes long, and no one actually speaks in this version. But it's very cool to watch, if you don't mind the potential spoilers.

Why is it that Elijah almost always gets stuck with dumb names in his movies?? XD

you think this is a dumb name? i hope that doesn't bother you. it's not about the name. it's about the story and the characters.

Of course it is, but I'm also always interested in the name. (hence my icon) I'm much better with Elijah`s respective role-name than the actual movie title. And "Nine" happens to be not a name, but a number. XD

really? i didn't know that.
i like 9. it's my favorite number. no, not because of this movie, but it's my birth month. anyway, i like different names and this happens to be an animated film, so the names can be a bit more random and whimsical.

Watched that clip... Wow... If Elijah's really gonna tackle that title role in a full-length version, then my hat's off!! It looks certainly different from Happy Feet - and adds to the sheer versatility of his roles. I'm certain Elijah will bring a depth to the character of "Nine" - by giving him a voice - that equals the detail of his animation and movement. It's not even a particularly "cute" character, which signifies to me that Elijah's really above cliche type-casting. Fantastic!! *claps hands* The concepts of the vision look mindbogglingly fascinating, and the whole feel of this is so gloomy and apocalyptic...the music at the end was brilliant.
New movie on my to-see-list! Yay!!!!

What's great is that I was actually persuaded to watch that short film, and I was blown away by it, before I ever found out it was going to be turned into a feature film, which was shortly after. I didn't know Elijah was going to be the main character! I don't know, him being main characters in animated films seems kind of cliche at this point, but it looks interesting. Way different from Happy Feet.
That said, I'm a little disappointed that it will have to have a traditional storyline and voices. The short film did better without those.

i've read a couple of forums and they say the same thing. sometimes it's better to leave things the way they are, but we'll see how it goes.
