The Oxford Murders

I'm sorry if this already exists. I've been searching alot of pages on this board but I didn't find anything so sorry that I make a (new) one 
Ok here's the deal:
Dec 27, 2006 article from Hollywood reporter -
MADRID -- Elijah Wood will head the international cast of Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia's much-anticipated English-language whodunit "Oxford Murders," Spanish production house Tornasol Films said Tuesday.
Wood joins previously announced John Hurt in the film, set to start shooting Jan. 22 for nine weeks in London and Oxford, England.
Now my question is: I want to visit the set if possible, is there anyone who can help me with this?
How can I find out when and where the recordings will be?
And in case i do find Elijah there, would he be kind enough to meet me?

well, i guess this is as good a time as any to start this thread seeing that it's now official about the film. it's been rumored for a while.
as far as where he'll be filming, he probably doesn't know yet himself. i'd say keep an eye on this thread. maybe something will show up.

The Oxford Murders is a thriller film adapted from an award-winning novel by the Argentinean writer Guillermo Martínez. It is a Spanish-French-British production directed by Álex de la Iglesia and starring John Hurt and Elijah Wood. Wood will play a student at Oxford University who becomes intrigued by a murder. He is taken under the wing of a Sherlock Holmes-style mentor (Hurt), who uses logic and math symbols to try to stop a series of murders. Álex de la Iglesia said: "I'm delighted to work with Elijah, who undoubtedly has the most powerful eyes in the industry and who is perfect for the part."
So what do you guys think about the concept?
I think it looks exciting, I've always loved this kind of films, you know murders and the mystery involved.
And Thank you deenan! I will sure keep an eye on this treath.
I read that he had problems with an obsessive fan on set of EII
I just hope that he still wants to meet other fans, because i'm a polite and patient person, I wouldn't bother him at all.

I am really looking forward to this. I got really excited when I heard that John Hurt was going to be in it, he's such a brilliant actor.

hi, I would like to find elijah on the set of the oxford murders , me and my friends are looking for informations about for to meet him in oxford or in london.
We hope the news, the informations about the locations will arrive

When I heard Elijah would be starring in this, I got this book from the library and finished it a few days ago. His character narrates and his name is never mentioned in the story at all; at first I thought I'd missed it and flipped back but I'm pretty sure it's not. In the book, his character plays tennis and has an older girlfriend, so it will be interesting to see what they do with that. 
It will be lovely to see him in something of this sort. I'm curious though as to whether this is considered an Indie film or will get a wide US release. Anyone know?
The story was excellent by the way!

Thanks Chuckie! I'm going to find that book and read it. Is his character Argentinian? I thought I read that somewhere.

just to let you know ladies, two of my friends were actually on the set lot were EII was filmed. they spent two days there and never saw elijah once.
then again he was seen a lot in england filming GSH. you never know what you're going to find. i hope you don't go on a wild goose chase.

Well that's one of my fears Deenan. I have to travel to another country and there's a chance i won't even see him.
And the only time I can go is at the start, like at the end of januari. So I don't know if he will already be there.
If only there was a way to find out..
And it's his birthday too at that time so maybe he has a day of
Feda, maybe it's best if you pm me about this and we can talk

I feel curious about this movie. I have seen all Alex´s previous films (he is pretty famous here in Spain), and it is going to be for sure a very original and different movie.
The way he tells the stories is usually very particular.

I just finished the book. It's very short and an easy read. I definitely liked the story, but it felt a lot like a TV movie to me. The director may have to expand upon it for it to be a full-length movie. I love John Hurt but I felt the 'professor' part would have been great for Ian McKellen.
For those of you who read the book. Who do you think would be good for the part of Elijah's girlfriend in this?
