Elijah's New Film Project

You know that everyone is doing remakes of older films, i.e. King Kong, Posiden Adventure, etc.... Well, I heard that in honor of Don Knots Hollywood is doing a remake of "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." And guess who is said to be playing the lead role! You got it! Good ol' Elijah Wood is going to play the frightened, bumbling reporter wanna be 'Luther.' The Ghost and Mr. Chicken was a classic, clean-fun comedy and the remake role will be a change for Mr. Wood's typical roles. I look forward to seeing it in theatres, but I do not know when it is set to be released since filming has yet to begin. Be sure to communicate your support for Elijah in this role to his agent and to Hollywood - and anyone else that will listen. If you have never seen "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" you should, it is worth hunting it down at rental shops. I found a new copy on eBay. I hope they stay true to the original soundtrack by Vic Mizzy, it is so fun. Have A Nice Day!

Hmmmm... I haven't heard anything about this. But it would be really inserting to see him play a frightened, bumbling reporter. lol.

I'm not sure what you mean by that... a frightened, bumbling character seems like more or less a typical Elijah role to me.

just because frodo fell down 267 times in the LOTR films doesn't make it a typical bumbling role.
as of late, from lij being older now, those roles are less and less. but in the ones where he may have come off as that, there was always some strong or plausible characteristics that laid inside.
but this news is new to me. i've never heard about it before. to be honest, i hope it's not true. i'm so tired of re-makes coming from hollywood. i would have thought elijah wouldn't fall into them and stay with his love for indies.

I dunno. It doesn't seem a wise career move for Elijah. He should move away from the awkward roles, at this point, towards the more manly ones, I think. I am tired of everyone thinking he is so awkward and squeaky clean.
In the meantime, here is an interview of Elijah. Have you guys seen this one?
I don't know how to start a new thread, but I wanted to let you all know that there is a new Elijah video on You Tube. Maybe you all have already seen it, but here is the link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJn_RB08eAo&search=Elijah%20Wood
If the link doesn't work, you can go to Youtube.com and put Elijah Wood in the search engine. It's the interview with Jiminey Glick.
--Diane P.S. If someone knows how to move that link to a new thread, please please please do so.

First of all, in my opinion I think that it's very plausible that someone might have made this thing up, and the original poster didn't site any sources so we can't tell if the source of this knowledge is liable or not. I doubt this is happening, because I just don't see it happening, and it really doesn't seem like the type of thing Elijah would do. Secondly, Elijah is an off-beat kind of person who likes to go against the grain of society and is almost always interested in roles that are different from normal and actually make you think. I think it would be the death of Elijah's career and also my respect for him if he started getting Hollywood on us and trying to pad up his image with masculinity, which to me only shows self insecurity. Elijah is definitely not insecure with himself or his image. And thirdly, Iggy Pop will most certainly be a role that will change people's perspective of Elijah, as hopefully it will go awesomely.

Ah, my favorite interview with Elijah ever. I think I've actually quoted the entire interview once and knew every word that was said a couple years ago. It's just hilarious.

Well, I see your points, that Elijah is not going to go for being "all masculine," now, but I do get the feeling he's tired of being typecast, also, as an odd, fey, rather too precious misfit. I think it would be going against the grain for him to play a more adult, more masculine role than he has in his past films. As he gets into his late twenties, and closer all the time to the Big Three Oh, I'd like to see this happen, personally. We know full well that he can play those odd, fey roles; I'd just like to see him stretch to the other side and play a manly, adult role. Well, there is plenty of time for that. He obviously is going to have a very interesting, life-long acting career.
Also, I guess I am the only one who hasn't seen the interview of Elijah by that Jiminey guy. It is very funny.
And I do sooooooo hope that Elijah pulls off playing Iggy!

ugh....
I think this movie kills his career.
He shouldnt do this movie. Isnt he obtaining a good role since HOBBIT why? Is his agent choosing an appropriate role to him?
I dont want to see him do this movie.
Good career movement?ugh...why?? This is an obviously bad movement.
I dont think remake movie is bad. but, better remake exists.
Im disgusted to a weak guy position in his coward.
Is this role wonderful?
Do a lot of people think that he only has to do a strange role?
I dont think remake is bad. but, this is awful.

I too am tires of remakes. BUT, if Elijah is involved then I have confidence in the picture. As to the "bumbly" character: Don Knots used physical comedy displaying a great amount of control over his own body that most all other actors cannot duplicate. I think that this role would be very challenging for Elijah. This film is to be a tribute to Don Knots and thus I would believe that anyone playing this role would be greatly challeged to do it justice; in a technical, acting aspect. As for Elijah playing masculine roles: the character Elijah played in Green Street Hooligans was masculine. It was a story of a young man finding his own confidence, and of him becoming a part of the world instead of just a bystander writting about it. Reference: I have memory problems but I do beleive that I heard it on E! tv some time after the death of Don Knots - they were running a bio special on him(very interesting) and that is where I believe I heard about the remake of The Ghost and Mr. Chicken with Elijah as the lead character. As for it being a 'wierd' career move/choose of roles for Elijah...have you SEEN A Bumblebee Flies Anyway? That was an odd flick.

Frodo is Weird role. JONATHAN is werid role.kevin is weird role. patrick is Weird role. And, iggy pop will be weird role. paris je taime will be weird role. Does he need a many weird role?
if he does remake....He should do differing good remake. This role is not good for him. The Bumblebee Flies Anyway was a not bad movie. Bumblebee Flies Anyway looked beautiful and fantastic.
If he does the one in Bumblebee line again, it might be good. but, this is different. I dont hate remake. but, This movie...doesn't look interesting....IMO.
However, I heard...he wanted to do this movie remake.lol www.imdb.com/title/tt0061722/ Does anyone know? This interview. http://www.azcentral.com/ent/movies/articles/1004elijahwood1004.html
