I know I am a latecomer in seeing this, because I just chanced upon finding the video on youtube today.
Everything I believed about Elijah has been confirmed. He's such a caring, cute, innocent, kind, sweet, sensitive person with real, true inner beauty. I love how he is emotional and honest, he is truly a sweetheart.
I was really worried about him though, because he was so completely scared and shocked, it looked like he could hardly breathe and that he was about to pass out. I think Punk'd went too far, because Elijah was really hurt and terrified. He kept putting his hands over his heart, it must have been beating so fast...and he was on the verge of tears, it made me wish I could be there and hug my poor little Elijah.
Oh, and about the whole "feminine" thing...I really hate stereotypes, and there's no such thing as how a man needs to act and how a woman needs to act. Because while male and female are biological, "masculine" and "feminine" are social constructs, something that society has created, and nothing more. So Elijah's reaction was human, and I completely love him for being the wonderful human being he is. It was great to see him in a real life situation, with no acting and no script, just Elijah being who he truly is, as it is said that a person's true self shows when they think they are not being watched, (therefore we have seen how ugly some actors' personalities are in reality, and now we see how beautiful Elijah's personality is) and it proves that he is who I've imagined him to be all along.
Seeing his true feelings and emotions makes me love him even more. I always knew that he has a wonderful personality like that, but this just reassured me. Elijah is a truly a great human being with a tender and gentle soul, and I wish that this world had more people like him, because it really needs them. Elijah is truly proof that there is good in this world.

Well said frodo love! I just watched this episode of punk'd yesterday, since I haven't wantched it in a long time and I almost forgot how intense it is! I almost cried. Elijah handled the situation very well, though. I always wait for the camera team to come and "free" him...

I don't have anything new to add regarding Punk'd, but I just had to comment on your discourse re "feminine" and "masculine" social constructs, frodo love. Such an eloquent argument, and I couldn't agree with you more. In fact, this has been one of my own "hot buttons" for years now, that people are judged in such a way. People talk about Elijah's eyes and his hands and his beautiful face, and sometimes call him feminine... What I have tried to get people to see is that, if the man who was punk'd in this way was a larger man, if his face was more rugged in looks, his hands rougher, his voice deeper, he could have said exactly the same things and acted exactly the same as Elijah did and no one would have yelled "feminine". All because a small package is wrapped so beautifully doesn't change what's inside. And, with Elijah, what's inside is a beautiful, thoughtful, male soul. He's one special man, and like you, I wish there were more like him in this world... particularly of my age and living just down the block from me.

Interesting comments all, and I agree with Yeux de bleu when you say the barriers are slowly but surely breaking down. Some people have the mindset still that there are certain things women can do but men can't....anyway, about Punk'd, you're so right Frodo love! I felt so sorry for Elijah, he was really panicky, wasn't he? I can completely imagine how he must have felt - its things like this that prove he would never break the law or anything, he's a caring citizen!

It's great to see that the stereotypes and the barriers in this world are disintegrating. Some people don't realize that society has programmed them to think a certain way, and that mere social constructs and programming are not set in stone, and are things that are shaped and molded, and can therefore be changed. All kinds of people exist in the world, and therefore what applies to some individual cannot and must not be applied to a whole nation, or a whole gender. Such is the ignorance and ugliness of stereotypes. A person's personality, character and behavior depends upon that person as an individual human being, and not on if they are male or female, or the color of their skin or the country they were born, etc.

Oh, how I really wish there were more like him my age down the block from me too. Then I would be in heaven.
