New movie for Elijah: "Day Zero"

I just read in Bunnie's LJ that Elijah has signed up for a film called "Day Zero" and that filming should start soon.
This is the plot summary from IMDb: The military draft is back. Three best friends are drafted and given 30 days to report for duty. In that time they're forced to confront everything they believe about courage, duty, love, friendship and honor. If called to serve, what would you do?
Anyone has more info about it? Sounds pretty interesting...

hehe... you beat me by 4 seconds posting this. i found out about it from aquila0212's journal. she found a little more info from google and the new york daily news.
actress/model named Michelle DiBenedetti. It says about her:
"DiBenedetti's acting career is now showing signs of taking off. On the day that a Daily News reporter and photographer attended her fitting, she snagged a role in an Elijah Wood movie, "Day Zero."
"Day Zero, a feature film starring Elijah Wood, Ginnifer Goodwin, Chris Klein needs a brownstone apt in Brooklyn Heights/Wburg for a one day shoot during the second or third week of March. ..."
i don't know if that is this march meaning right this very moment, or next march. in any case i hope it's true. sounds like an interesting film.

Thanks for the additional info, Deenan!
Apparently, it's another first-time-director movie. No name though. I hope this doesn't mean that we'll never get to see this in the cinema.
Edit: found the director's name: Bryan Dunnar Cole.
IMDB says they're currently filming...

Quote from: Cristiel on March 19, 2006, 01:57:24 pm LOL, Cristiel! I know it, 'Lij seems really into the "freelance films" movement right now. I'd like to see him in a blockbuster again- he deserves it.
Will be keeping an eye out for new info! I take it he probably plays one of the three friends...?

It sounds completely fascinating, but AGH! Another first-timer, which means that it will probably hover in limbo, a la Try 17 and GSH, and then descend to cable or direct-to-DVD.
Too bad, because it sounds like a really astounding indie film. Maybe we will get REALLY lucky and it will catch a distributor's eye.

Do not speak to us of the greatness of poetry, Of the torches wisping in the underground, Of the structure of vaults upon a point of light. There are no shadows in our sun, Day is desire and night is sleep. There are no shadows anywhere.

i wonder why elijah keeps picking films that barely scrape by??. i mean i suppose he likes the work more than how much it rakes in.

Quote from: Cristiel on March 19, 2006, 01:57:24 pm Well, there was of course Lord of the Rings and Sin City for blockbuster films....
Great to hear about a new film, but in my opinion no offense, the genre doesn't seem really interesting to me. It sounds an awful lot like another 'Jarhead' type movie, which I have almost no interest in. There's been so many courage-soldier-war movies around and you just get tired of the ever popular known plot sometimes. Not that I have anything against soldiers or anything.
