I didn't cry when watching the movie, but I think the saddest moment is, when Sam holds Frodo in the third movie (at Mount Doom) 
And there's the moment in the first movie, when Gandalf falls in Moria, that was a moment where I nearly cried

I said The Grey Havens, but I found the moment when Sam is helping Frodo up Mount Doom sad too

For me, a lot of the saddest things are the smallest gestures, the things without words. Like expressions on the faces of the hobbits or the way Sam and Frodo hold each other. Those things ALWAYS kill me!

I never actually cry during movies.  But I can get emotional to the point where my eyes tear, lol. I voted for the scene when everyone bows to the Hobbitses, lol...

Oh gosh... I cry when I watch movies... eventhough it's some stupid cartoon, like Lady and the trump... or Snowwhite! OMG... I'm way to emotional! I didn't vote for anything, because I cried like non stop...

That's alright Pam, I am way emotional about some movies too and I'm not afraid to admit that because it's the truth!  I cried the most when Sam was holding Frodo on mount doom.

I've got another one, though it was not a tearful moment it is a really visceral moment and it is only in the extended version.
When Eomer sees Eowyn on the battle feild presumably dead, the way he screams... drops everything and runs to her side is just gut wrenching, everytime I see it I feel it to the core it is such a true moment,
I feel qualified to say so because in my experience in the ER it all too often is like that, just an awful reaction to the immediacy of the painful reality set before the persons involved. It hurts to watch it, it is real and personal, that scene makes me fee the same way.

Oh my gosh I agree so much about the extended scene when Eomer finds Eowyn on the battlefiled. The FIRST time I watched that I wasn't expecting it at alllll for some reason... and as I saw it, I literally BURST into tears. It was the hardest I had ever cried at a movie. It's soooo moving. I just really felt it with my whole heart. I'm veryyyyyyy emotional watching movies too....

That is one scene that it was a tragedy that it did not makeit into the theatrical version....i see the continuity issue though. if you show Eowyn on the battle field then you have to followit up with her healing, other wise she just suddenly appears alive again a tthe coronation.

i don't cry at movies unless they're really really sad (like Veronica Guerin), but there's a scene in RotK that gets me every time. it's when Eowyn sees the Witch King's fell beast grab Theodan and Snowmane and toss them like a rag doll. then in the next scene when she's like "i'm going to save you" and he replies "you already have" for some reason i always think of my dad and what i would do if he died....and it makes me weep a little tear.

When I cried:
Gandalf falls in the shadow.
Boromir dies.
Faramir's dad dies and finally realizes he loves him.
In the EE of ROTK when Aowyn was found laying hurt in the battle field by her brother.
Pippin finds Merry in the battle field hurt.
Merry has to leave Pippin to go with Gandalf.
Frodo  telling Sam to go home. in ROTK.
Sam finding Frodo after Shelob injects Frodo .
Sam holding Frodo outside of Mount Doom.
Frodo hanging on the edge of the cliff after falling over with Gollum and Sam saying, "don't you let go. Don't you let go".
When the eagles find Sam and Frodo and carries them away.
Frodo saying goodbye to the others at the end of ROTK.
I guess there are to many to count and will post more when I can think of them.

i cant say that i cryed when i watched LOTR but my eyes did get a litlle misty when Frodo said goodbye to Sam, Merry and Pippin at the end of ROTK.

I did "other". I don't know what u call it, but when Frodo sails ove the water, when he's hugging Sam. The line about being torn into, OMG, that makes me cry everytime cuz I feel like Frodo is talking to me, and he smiles, it makes me cry that much more...too powerful for words. I made a tape of all the lines in the movies that he says, on a Frodo site, since I been sick it's the only way I can sleep, sitting up w/ it in the player.
