Sean Astin in "The Final Season"

Just a note, Sean is currently in Cedar Rapids , Iowa (is that ironic or what?) filiming in a movie called "The Final Season". Sean is has the starring role of Kent Stock, a young man coaching a high school baseball team through their last season before the school is closed.
For more info, check out the Sean thread in the Random things board.

I have a feeling this one is going to be good. The screenwriter holds a number of writing awards, including several poetry awards, and Sean's brother Mack, also as a role. I think this is the first time they have ever acted together.
Sean is hoping to reconnect with the audience who loved Rudy. If this is even half as good as that film, we have a winner!

The movie is looking good. Here's a site with lots of pictures from the set, including Sean. There's also an audio interview with him!

That sounds interesting--thanks for posting, Storyteller. That is cool that he gets to act with his brother for the first time, and definitely ironic about filming in Cedar Rapids! Hmm...speaking of Rudy, though, I haven't seen that yet. I'll have to look into it, seeing as you say it's good.

The link to the site didn't work for me because my computer has some problems. I didn't realize Mackenzie was working with Sean on this movie; I wonder what that was like for them?

Well, it isn't their first job together, technically. Mack had a small part in Harrison Bergeron, as did their dad.

I'll have to see Rudy then. And look into The Final Season as well. It will be neat to see Sean's brother--I've never seen him before, even in pictures. (I have to admit i didn't know he had one... Oh well, i know now. )

Well Starry, we can't let that go on now, can we?
First, boy Sean left, boy Mack right. Mack looks a lot like John Astin with Patty's coloring, I think.

Sean age 16, Mack age 14.

Adult Mack and Sean with Patty when she got her star on the Walk of Fame.

There's a cute story hooked to the star. I'll tell you some time.

I didn't realize Mack was in HB. I remember seeing Sean's Dad, though. What part did Mack play?
Great pictures of the brothers, Rach. It was neat to see them "grow up" together in your pictures.

John was on the tv interviewing a golfer. Mack was the golfer.
They REALLY don't look at all alike, but they are certainly unusually close, even for brothers.
