As a Sean fan and as someone who struggles with their weight like Sean does, I feel I must come to his defense a bit here.

These are certainly not my favorite Sean pictures by stretch of the imagination. But it hurts me a bit to see him made fun of for them. While I personally don't like speedos (on anyone), Sean did not choose to dress in a speedo just for the fun of it. It was for a part for a movie.  Also, while I personally dress much more "modestly" and prefer that in others, why is it okay for someone with a "perfect" body to dress this way but it is silly or funny for someone who is heavier to dress this way?

Sorry to be so defensive.  I am usually not a defensive person but for some reason I felt the need to come to Sean's defense this time (like he really needs me to. )  I am not angry or upset and I hope this doesn't turn into a debate, I just felt the need to say something this time.

Also this topic already has a thread.

I think Sean is a really brave guy for showing himself with his flaws, to go out into the public knowing you're overweight but being okay about people seeing you shows strength of character.

He's a really lovely person too, the way he works so hard to help the Katrina victims is really wonderful.

Sorry Rosie, I'm not turning this into a debate, but I felt like saying something as well.

Haha, speedos always make me laugh.  It's hard not to look RIGHT THERE you know?  Especially if the suit is red.

Maybe I just have issues.

Is the role as a lifeguard?  That's what it looks like.

Sorry.. I really didn't mean to be rude, and reading my comment I see I was.  I wasn't trying to make fun of him, but as always I talked before I thought, lol.  Just - I don't like speedo's.. Even on Brad Pitt.  They're - bad.

Oh, TotalGeek, please don't feel badly.  It honestly wasn't that big of a deal.  I hope I didn't sound upset, because I wasn't.  I only felt like I needed to help Sean out a bit (like he really needs my help. LOL) since I felt sorry that he struggles with his weight as I do (and I confess also because I am a devoted Sean fan  )

Slartibartfast, the movie is called Click.  It is with Adam Sandler again, just like 50 First Dates.

Oh, that's interesting, is it just a coincidence that they're working together again? I have to say I'm not too big a fan of Adam Sandler.

I thought that was really interesting that they are working together again. I don't really know how or why that worked out (Sean doesn't tell me everything.  )  I guess my feelings about Adam Sandler are neutral.    I don't really have an opinion about him, I guess. The only movie I have seen him in was "50 First Dates" and I only watched that because Sean was in it.
