Sir Ian McKellen as Zebedee!
« on: January 15, 2005, 02:34:00 pm »

Ian McKellen is playing Zebedee in the New Magic Roundabout movie. One of the best kids TV programs plus Gandalf- yay! Plus, they've made them more animated rather than puppets, and they look so much cooler!

I so want to see that.
am a little disappointed that Kylie and Robbie (sorry taf) are in it, but the other actors make up for them.

Not so impressed with Kylie.
Why is she wanting to get into the acting thing?
First Galadriel (HAH! ROFLMAO... still) and now this.
God help us all

I really think Ian will make a good Zebedee.
I can't wait for it to come out, I've already made plans with my boyf. to see it.

I'm sure he will make a fantabulous Zebedee.
Can't wait for this.
I used to watch the magic roundabout all the time.
My Dad used to wake me up specially, and we'd watch cuddling on the settee. What an adorable child I was HA!

May take my Dad to see it.
Remember old times. Won't cuddle him though, that would look weird.
On the flight home from Singapore the flight attendant called me his wife while I was asleep and my mum stole a row of empty seats.
Odd.

Well, it's not really acting in it's most well known form is it. It's voice cast, and if J-Lo can do it, I am pretty sure kylie can. Plus, acting is pretty much how she got her break, no she wasn't the best actress in the world, but I can think of a list of others worse than her.

I loved the original Magic Roundabout, and although I am a huge fan of Ian Mckellen, and have no doubt he will do justice to the character, I still can't help but wonder they'll end up doing more harm than good in redoing all of these old classics.

The trailer for it looks brilliant. I think it should do the old version credit. Lol- the trailer begins with this really spooky voice over aboput how the Earth needs heros- then Dougal appears andsays"The hero's couldn't come- so we're here instead!"
(Or words to that effect!)

My Dad keeps yelling "Do you think Florence is a virgin?!" from an old Jasper carrot scetch whenever I mention seeing it.

I love how Ian's branching out ino things he really wants to do now, he's been doing a few different things recently.

I've seen a clip with both Robbie and Kylie's voices and they do great. The film looks a little weird though, the plot doesn't seem at all like the show. (I haven't actually seen the trailer though)

http://www.cinema.com/films/7732/magic_roundabout/trailers.phtml

This site has a very basic plot (ie- two lines!) and links to the trailers. I don't know if the links work as I'm at school and we can't play them, so sorry if they don't! Also it's got the original cast list, which says Richard O' Brian is playing Zebedee. Wrong! Unless it's different in other countires... hmm.

Sounds like thats the case, but in Shrek 2 there's different actors for some characters. But they're only minor, and Ian McK is known in America anyway, so it'd unlikely to be double casting.

I caught a brief glance of the trailer so I wasn't sure which character Sir Ian was playing, I love Zebedee "Boing!  Time for bed!"
I am actually old enough to remember the Jasper Carrott  scetch, it was on the b-side of the song "Funky moped" back in the day when vinyl was around, it still makes me wet myself , it's hilarious.
"Arh P**s off Dougal" said Florence and Dougal did so, all over Florence and Zebedee!
"I love you Dougal" said Florence.
"I love you to" said Dougal
"What shall we do now Dougal?" asked Florence
"BOING!!!!  Time for bed" said Zebedee.

Yes yes I know You have to hear the whole thing to really get it and believe me it's worth tracking down
Oh dear lord!, The magic roundabout and Ian McK the insanity of it all
Help!!!!
