My god frodomyhero! Glad you're all alright! That must have been terrifying!
I love all of the music in LOTR too, it's really amazing. The Beacons....WOW!! I actually rarely listen to the Grey Havens on my soundtrack because just listening to it makes me cry! Am I weird?

Quote:| I have to write about the music to get my mind off of what happened today.... if anyone was watching CNN news... yes the mall in Kingston N. Y. was where I was and yes .. I was eye to eye with the gunman... I was fortunate though... for whatever reason ..he didn't shoot me or my daughter... he was headed for the inside of the mall...but he did manage to shoot off some bullets and we had to duck down and try to avoid him...OMG he went after my husband though... TG.. all of us got out alive... | Oh my god!! I did hear about that on CNN. That's horrible that you and your family were a part of it, frodomyhero. Anyway, I recently listened to The Two Towers soundtrack just because for some reason. Every time nowadays I want to listen to a LOTR soundtrack, I either listen to the Fellowship or Return of the King, the two best in my opinion. And The Two Towers is so overlooked and ancient becoming. Quite refreshing when I listened to it. The middle movie score, as well as the movie itself, really is equally as brilliant as the other two massive cinema peices of the trilogy. That's something I kind of forgot since it's all finished now.

About the Grammys: http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/050215/081087.html He deserves it so much!!
I love the music, I never get tired of listening to the CD. My favourite piece is the Hobbit Theme but they are all fantastic, they accompany the various scenes brilliantly!
I am so proud to be the owner of these CDs and Films!

Howard Shore is a very, very brilliant man! I look up to anyone who writes beautiful music, and he definitely has my respect! This movie, or any of the LOTR movies for that matter, would not be the great films they are without this music! *Joins in applause for Mr. Shore*

all of the LotR soundtracks are very emotional for me to listen to b/c i had the amazing opportunity to sing in the LotR Symphony when it came to Pgh. howard shore directed (i got his autograph on my RotK songbook).....his genius is beyond words. RotK is my fav tho, b/c of the lighting of the beacons, the part of the score where the Nazgul decend on Minas Tirith and the whole choir is singing, and Into the West......oh, and i love Viggo's solo......singing in the LotR Symphony was the high point of my whole entire life.....

Howard Shore is definitively a great composer. He well deserves his Oscar and his 3 Grammys for the soundtracks of the trilogy.
MerryMadam you are not weird. Maybe you got too emotional when you listen the Grey Heavens song. Some songs make me cry, for example: The Schindler's List theme. There's nothing wrong.
I read the Spanish translation of the song "Into the West". It is a beautiful song. I don't know why I don't understand the songs in English, is weird. It's about someone dies. That song is for my little Frodo, doesn't it? I think that song is for someone who needs to be loved, hugged, and cared. I like to buy the LOTR soundtracks!!

Ok.. I also absolutely LOVE the Shelob score..it just makes me shiver and see Frodo and then Sam come after Shelob! Then there's no. 16...when they are going to the Black gate and at the same time you hear the hobbits climbing up Mt. Doom and falter and Frodo can't move and Sam picks him up and I just cry and cry every time I hear that .. then no. 17 and the fearsome fight between Frodo and Gollum for the Ring and Aragorn with the Orcs ... and then of course the haunting tone of the song when the eagles are coming to rescue Frodo and Sam clinging to the rock with the molten lava arouind them...... oh Howard .. the list goes forever on and on and on... to the Grey Havens.......and of course Anne Lennox singing.. it just breaks my heart every time.....I listen to this practically every day... this music is so inspirational to me....

I only think I have an answer now. But I do know that I must hear all of the music before I can truly give an informed answer. Yes, that means that I still haven't seen the EE yet.

I also had to tell about the "Fellowship of the Ring" music score.. you see when I was really sick in the hospital with RSD and undergoing test after test ...well I used this music to inspire me and then I told this women later on that year who asked if she could use my story about how I've gotten better and now am back to work and well .. my point is if you go to Ebay there is a book called "Postive Options for RSD" and my story is in it and I tell how Howard Shore's "Fellowship of the Rings' music is so inspirational in a chapter in this book- so it's in print folks ...Howard ..your're a genius and such a help to me... a great big Thank YOU!!! to you ...
