Quote from: Storyteller ~RSF~ on August 01, 2007, 04:52:52 pm I'm not dead, and neither is Sean. Maybe another opportunity will present itself. |
I'm sure it will...I'm glad you're looking on the positive side; maybe they'll somehow have him speak via satellite. It actually sounds like fun to be around "the reality challenged." Take some pics for us.

Quote from: Storyteller ~RSF~ on July 31, 2007, 02:35:22 pm I just got back from picking up the book at the library. "I'm honored to be given the chance to make the part of Twoflower my own, starring in a fantasy tale that has captured the imagination of millions of people around the world," Astin said. |
I picked up TCOM Saturday and just read a few pages; ordinarily this is not the sort of thing I like but I'm going to get through it for Sean.

I like them, too, but I am a bit hard to please. My problem is that I read the bet one first. Nothing else compares.
From Belleferret on lj...
Sean was sighted in the British Bookstore buying "Captain Underpants" for his daughter's birthday today.
Happy fifth Birthday, Elizabeth Astin!
Hugs, Rach

Big hi to Rose!!! Miss seeing you on the thread! I am glad you popped back in!
Hi to everyone else! It is really too bad about Dragon Con, Rach! But you seem to be handling the disappointment quite well. I hope you get a chance to see Sean in person soon!!! Ok...I know I am being dumb..but is TCOM the job he got in England? Have pity on my poor brain. I don't know if I am coming or going these days.

Thanks, culpie. I AM handling the disappointment fairly well. While I would LOVE to get a chance to thank Sean, I don't have the NEED to make a personal connection. I'm just as good as a fan without it.
I have some good news! I was able to watch the Meerkat Manor Season three premiere episode last night, thanks from a tip from belleferret. I've said it before, Sean doesn't just narrate. He ACTS the script and is the one element, imho, that sets this "reality program" above the rest. There's an excellent review here, including a quote from Sean. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!
Meerkat Manor Review
You can find the episode on the Animal Planet web site.

D/l the player first. If you have trouble with it, I have a link from which to get the player.
Hugs, Rach

New information...I hope the double post is ok.
Several months ago we heard about an video Sean made in order to help teacher educate students in using film as part of their learning experience. Now, we can see and hear Sean himself discuss the program!

It is one of the things I really like about Sean...he is involved in lots of great programs. He has quality and depth unlike the ridiculous "stars" that think they are popular because the media follows all their stupid antics.
Way to go, Sean! Thanks so much for the clips, Rach.

I agree totally. The magazines and entertainment shows never show quality, just popularity. I had on ET and had to turn it off when they showed Paris Hilton one time too many. They need to show our boys.

My Sean yahoo group used to have a member who worked with many actors in Hollywood. She said one of the reasons she was a Sean fan was because he had "actual talent" as opposed to most of the actors in town. She also said that the funny thing was that the MORE talent you have, the more serious you were, the less the publicity machine seemed to be interested in you.
I think this happens with our boys, Sean and , at times, Elijah. They are just too nice, too normal to be overly popular with the celebrity news.
When I was first invited to this forum by Rose, I hesitated to come. I had been on an Elijah fansite once looking for pictures and seen E's fan's there being VERY NASTY about Sean. The nicest thing that was said was that he was "Boringly good." I couldn't help wondering at the time what E would think about his FANS being so hard on his FRIEND.
Luckily, I found A&F to be made up of a very different kind of fan.
Hugs, Rach
