You're right deenan. His sweater does look inside out. Maybe, as you say, it's a new trend or perhaps he really was that tired when he got dressed!

Yeah you´re right...it DOES look inside out...funny. 
Next week a LOOOT of people are gonna wear their sweaters like that.

Last year in the UK, the shops were full of items of clothing which had edges that weren't seamed or were deliberately frayed - so maybe his sweater is supposed to be like that??

I enlarged the sweater pics that best show the neckline and the cuff, and as a knitter I can attest that he is either wearing it inside out or it is deliberately made inside out. The way the stitches for the v-neck are finished off is a real giveaway, among a few other things.
But I bet Elijah did it completely 100% on purpose. I don't think he does a public appearance without very consciously making a fashion statement.

It does look inside out! I'm gonna go see how many of my sweaters I can get away with wearing inside out!

Lij looks fine perhaps he still having the jet lag effects. His hair looks a little bit uncombed and his sweater looks inside out. (Anyways, I like his sweater)
Maybe he was on a hurry to get to the press conference.
I am happy to see these new pictures!! Lij looks cute and healthy!!(I hope he's cut down his smoking habit) I hope to see him in new pictures with his fellow Hobbits pals. I missed those days.

OK, I TOTALLY had a thought last night about this "inside-out sweater" thing. Back to the Future Part 2 was on last night, and Iwatched a little bit, then I lost interest....
Anyway, in the 2015 parts (where is has a small part) Doc tells MArty about the trend where teenagers wear their clothes inside out!!!!!!
OK, had to let that out!

It is a new trend. I bought a long sleeved button up shirt a couple months ago that has the same fray along the front seems and around the cuffs. It is all part of the alternative look. Like the pants I have with the frays at the end of the pant leg.

I don't believe the sweater is inside out; I think it's deliberately meant to look that way, as others have said. My daughter has at least two shirts that are like that.
Another clue is the shoulder and sleeve seam -- it's definitely not inside out, or you'd see the raw inside of the seam!
