This is just to remind fans that Elijah does NOT have a legitimate or verified Twitter or Facebook account that is open to the public. Think about this. After all this time, he hasn't had a celebrity site other than MySpace to promote Simian Records. Even that account has gone for a long time as updated to the public.
Please do not be fooled by the many impostors out there trying to be him. I'm sure if Elijah decides to include one of these networking sites for himself, notice from a reputable source will let it be known.

Yeah, I was fooled by a fake Elijah facebook account a while back... it had this barcode on it, saying it was "verified." He was also friends with a bunch of other celebs like Dominic Monagahan, and some of them had "certificates of authenticity."
I really believed it was real, but it turns out facebook doesn't offer certificates of authenticity, and the barcodes can be copied and pasted by anyone.  It makes me mad that people would do something like that... they're fooling hundreds of people.

I knew that the FB accounts with bar codes where all fake but still it isn't good that people can pass themselves off as celebs as easily as that!

I guess when it comes to the internet, you just have to use your own discretion to decide whether someone is genuine or not. I think the fact that Elijah doesn't even have an official site speaks volumes - I doubt he'd even have a facebook, let alone be accepting friends.

absolutely! i highly doubt he would create a public social networking page for himself. when i think about it, elijah seems to prefer networking IN public. ya know what i mean?

it's possible he could have something, but just for the closest of closest friends and family and nothing that screams "lookit me! elijah wood!" with press photos splattered all over it. he's not into the vanity of celebrity.

I remember one "Elijah's" Facebook account, but it has been deleted, so I cannot send you the link. I suppose it was the same, which Julie wrote about- it had strange barcode on it and a sign saying "100 % Real Elijah Wood" or something like this He was friends with Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Sean Astin. I think the same person made all these accounts. They had these barcodes too. I must confess that at first I thought it was Elijah's real account, but after some time I realized it wasn't. Why? On his profile was the information that he lived in Sydney and his WIFE was Laura Di Stefano, a 16-year-old girl from Italy xD Interestingly, she had this hilarious barcode on her profile too! What else? Photos He had all photos from E.W official facebook. In addition, "Sean", "Dom" and "Billy" had the same photos in their albums. And now, the most ridiculous thing! One day, he pubblicated a new pic. It was this CERTIFICATE (it probably was made in Paint xD), saying "Facebook confirms that it's the only real Elijah Wood's account". My God, when I saw it, I was laughing so hard...this "certificate" had also Elijah's photo and a STAMP, lol xD And it's not the end! A few days later he pubblicated another pic. This time, it was a sheet of paper with his and his "friend" autograph. Woah, but the thing is this autograph was IDENTICAL like this one: http://www.freewebs.com/rgs_gal/Wood.jpg
Well, I think he copied it and pasted on this sheet in Photoshop
And you know...the most of people have believed him!  They commented this certificate and autograph, saying: "Oh, I've always known you are real" or "That's good you pubblicated the certificate/autograph, now all people will know you are real."
Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous and hilarious

Can someone please clear this up, because, personally, I'm getting more confused by the minute.
On face book, there's Elijah Wood Fan Club, Elijah Wood Actor/Director and just Elijah Wood with his most recent picture. So, does he even have an account or is someone scamming his fans?

Hmm...well are they fanpages, groups, or people? If they're people, then they're just people pretending to be him. They wouldn't be real. Cuz he doesn't have a facebook account that he befriends fans on.
If it's a fanpage or group, those are just made by fans, not claiming to be him usually, who just want to show support for him. (:
But he does have a twitter now (: I'm really happy about that, XD.

yes, elijah has finally joined the masses at twitter.
i started this thread earlier in the year because of the impostors out there parading like they were him on twitter and facebook and i didn't want others to be taken in by their deceit.
i stated that notice from a reputable source will let it be known if he got an account and it can't get more reputable than elijah himself for he's dropping his account temporarily to take part in a charity event for keep a child alive.

I just heard about that on Facebook. In all truth, when I first read that Elijah's dead, my heart rate sped up in fear. It wouldn't have put me in such a panic attack if whoever was writing this had just said he's not going to be on the Internet because he'll be helping an AIDS/Save a Child charity by donating his time to raise money. But, some people have to make everything into a dramatic sensational gossiping story out of everything.
