If you met him casually....

Sorry if this is bit of a stupid question, but I just want to see what people think.  Say, for example, if you met Elijah just in the street, or shopping, where he was just being himself. Would you run over and ask for an autograph or photo, or would you let him get on with what he was doing without going over to him?

I already met Elijah twice in a rather casual way. The first time was beginning 1999 on a plane. I didn't know who he was at that time so we just talked.
The second time was last April, at the premiere of "Day Zero" in New York. I was introduced to him at the after party by the person who had invited me. There were no other fans around so we could talk a bit and take some pics (I really wanted to have a picture with him).
If I would meet him in the street, I think I don't think I'd go to him, I would just let him be.

This is a hard question to answer mary but a good one as I have never met Elijah in person I would be tempted to go up and ask for an autograph but on the other hand he would rather be left alone to do whatever he was doing. So in answer to your question I would probably acknowledge his prescence by a smile and maybe go over and try to chat to him.

A interesting question Mary !  I would talk him ! ( but,I admit,I would afraid ... Cause,I have got terrible english.Mistakes would make my day trashy !  ) Of course ... Ask for an autograph on photo and a photo that there are me and him ! OMG !

This is the best way to meet someone famous then you feel like its not all show or anything..you know

To tell you the truth, I would probably not even realize he was there and walk right by him, I've done that with other celebs in NY when people with me said "isn't that such and such that just walked by?' and I'd be like "oh, ok" and just continue because I didn't even see them....... pretty sad huh?

The same for me here, the problem is I don't even have glasses yet. If I saw him though, I think I'd walk up to him, because knowing that I could have talked to him and didn't, would make me go berserk.

I really don't know what I would do?
Well for a long time it was my only and deep wish to meet him and let a pic taken of him and me and I wanted to ask him for an autograph. My little Frodo doll really needed to be signed by him.
That was all before I traveled to NZ this summer and visited the LotR locations with Red Carpet Tours. I really felt close to the movies and everybody involved into the movies, felt very close to Elijah too. I slept in Sean's bedroom at the Powderhorn Chateau and I have taken my pic relaxing on Elijahs bed in his room. That was a special thing to do and I felt very very close to him.
I think if I would see him somewhere I would just look at him and not disturb him with my stupid wish to take his photograph. Just be happy so see him walking by.

i met elijah while he was conducting business... well, sort of. it was at the after party for GSH, but that didn't stop me from getting plenty of autographs and pictures. i mean, how often does that opportunity come along?

Well I must admit that being honest and realistic and knowing myself, I would let him go on with what he is doing...
I´ve met some celebrities in the past and never been able to say anything, so...

Interesting to hear, everyone. Deenan, I guess if he was at the party then he was willing to be approached. Lucky you, getting a load of photos.
I think I would definately recognise him if he was ever here.
