ELIJAH'S STUNT DOUBLE

"Falling off tall buildings and being thrown around may not sound like everyone's cup of tea but it has its perks - I spent about two years in New Zealand as a stunt double for Elijah Wood in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy."

BABY NAMES
"In last year's top 100 baby name poll names such as Elijah and Rio rose in popularity, thanks to exposure from Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand."

SOME SIGHTINGS

"Scandinavian wood-elves on-stage at the Swedish psych-rock band Dungen’s gig last night at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, hairy-footed hobbits in the audience…caught Elijah Wood rocking out during such hits as “Ta det lugnt” and “Gjort bort sig”. Dude’s got taste…"

"Saw Elijah Wood, Sean Bean, and Viggo Mortensen outside the Mercer late on Thursday night. They were with a couple of suits and a guy with his hair in a ponytail that my boyfriend insists was Orlando Bloom, and a dark haired woman."

9/19 – walking down west 4th in the village, I was blabbering on about how dojo is the sh*ttiest restaurant in all of New York and who do I see standing outside, WAITING for a seat? Elijah Wood! He was wearing Willy Wonka-esque white, round sunglasses and a bright yellow tee. Noticed that there was no “girlfriend” in sight. I thought maybe it was just some Tisch school student, but then I heard his unmistakably squeaky voice. I still can’t figure out why he would eat there.

EUGENE HUTZ/PAM

Gogol Bordello's Eugune Hutz (co-star of the delightful Everything is Illuminated with Elijah Wood) spun the film's after-party at Habitat while Wood's girlfriend admired Hutz's cover shot on the new Gasoline magazine.

I'm going to name my baby boy Elijah...

.... well that's only possible if Elijah is not the father of course! Although I guess an Elijah senior and Elijah junior pair would be kinda cute! (I've totally lost it )

Thanks Angel.

Thanks for all that cool stuff Blue Angel!

About the baby names article- people are so closed-minded in my opinion. I just think that strange, unique names are wonderful, because when you have your own name and identity, your name should separate you from all the rest of the sheep, like your personality. All the people interviewed acted like having a unique name would only have bad circumstances like being made fun of. One of the reasons Elijah's practically a dynamic powerhouse is also because of his beautiful unique name!

I tried searching just his first name on google; and the first thing that comes up is Elijah Wood's IMDb profile.

I would love to have a very cool, unique name! Even though my name is...kinda unique. As long as the names aren't dumb examples...I love new names! Why blend in an be some boring, insignificant Joe? Your name belongs to you and it's special!

Anyway...I've had enough arguing about names.

Well, babynames.com has a special LOTR section... fancy a kid called Frodo?

Anyway, I agree with you. I love unique names, all the more so because my parents are rigid about ordinary names. Elijah's actually a much more ordinary name than many of the ones out there, just because it's traditional, if unusual at the moment.

On the flipside, giving a kid a unique name -- whether old or made-up -- requires a lot more care, because of how it could make the kid embarrassed or miserable later on in life. Remember what David Bowie's son was originally called?
