Thanks Christine for the info.
I have never heard of this show. Ebert as in Roger Ebert, the film critic?

Yes, it is a show where 2 film critics discuss current films and give their thumbs up or down. It used to be Siskell & Ebert, until Gene Siskell dies and now it is Ebert and Roeper. Haven't seen it since Roeper joined though.

I have read that they already gave Green Street hooligans two thumbs up so I suppose he will be there to promote "Everything is illuminated"??

Oh, this is most cool! Thanks Nuke!
A small spoiler though I think (as to the reason for Matt's expulsion). I'm not sure whether this has been mentioned before anywhere else.
It doesn't matter in my case though, since I might not be able to see the film anyway.
But I do hope we'll be able to see it over here.
Also on that site:
This weekend (9/17), Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper review:
JUST LIKE HEAVEN with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED with Elijah Wood KEANE with Damian Lewis DIRTY LOVE with Jenny McCarthy and Carmen Electra THUMBSUCKER with Lou Pucci, Tilda Swinton and Vincent D'Onofrio

ok... cool your britches ladies.
lij won't actually be on the show. they are just going to review EII. i'm really anxious to see what they say about it. (not that i give too much weight to what a lot of critics say) they loved GSH though, and gave it 2 thumbs up.

Ah well, still cool! I remember Roger Ebert gave Paradise a good review, so he's ok in my book!
There have been so many equally good and bad reviews for this film, it's almost impossible to keep up with who liked the film and who didn't.
Apparently, he liked EII!
"The film begins as a screwball comedy and finds a trajectory straight to the beating heart of truth, and how Schreiber controls that tonal shift in his directorial debut is hard to say, but he does. I went to see the film a second time because I felt I had been paying the wrong kind of attention when I saw a screening a month ago, and I was right about being wrong. Yes, I gave it thumbs up on TV, but I wasn't focused on its greatness. I think it helps to see it twice, to understand the journey it takes."
