i guess i'll be the first one to report. i'll tell more about the premiere and after party and not get into personal things here. these are bits taken from my LJ:

This is the cinema the movie was shown at. It boggled my mind that this tiny building at the corner held 14 theaters. I come to find out that the theaters are on different floors. I guess everything in NY is on top of something. We went to Virgin-mega store and picked up a copy of the Everything Is Illuminated soundtrack.

Joanie with our invitation.

I took this at a restaurant just across the street from the theater where we had a bite to eat. When we leave out, we see the red carpet being set up, and we start to get all giddy. We hang around outside the theater for a while. Not only I, but Ban gets tired. I just came in that morning from a 10 hour bus ride and Ban didn't get any sleep. But that would all change very soon.

We didn't really know what to do, or how these things work, so we just stood there....waiting to see what would happen. There were large men with ear pieces in, getting instructions and looking very imposing, like the president was coming in or something.

We were trying to figure out who the big wigs from Odd Lot were. We've seen their pictures and talked to them, but no one was looking like who we should be in contact with. We just hung around outside the theater, when the big burly men enclosed us in a barricade. Come to find out, this was the line for people who had invites to the movie, and we were right in front, with excellent viewing of everyone who was coming to the premiere.

We hear little conversations going on about when the stars would be arriving and from where. We are in the perfect spot to see everything. But not too much longer, we were told to go inside and be checked in, so there would be no sightings of anyone coming down the red carpet. We did hang out in the lobby some after we checked in.

Our first star sighting was of Terence Jay, but from inside the lobby. The only picture I got of him in his awesome red jacket was from the back. We also got a quick glimpse of Lexi Alexander. When the burly men saw us standing around, he told us we had to go up the escalator to the movie theater, so we did. We found 4 seats in the front row, but not near the screen. There was a walkway between us and the first section of seats. We looked around for the VIP section that we thought all the stars would be sitting in, but we never saw it.

But we did have our first sighting of Elijah....it was just the top of his head, but he soon came to view, moving in and out of our sight. He was just to our left standing in the passage way with some other people. We could hear his adorable laugh while they waited to be introduced.

Time came for the movie to start and Deborah Del Prete, the producer, gave a little speech and introduced Lexi. She was stunning wearing a sequined gold halter top and black pants. She walks right in front of us and down the isle near Deborah. She spoke some of making the movie and the people she worked with, and then she introduced the stars. First it was Charlie Hunnam, looking all gorgeous...and very tall. Then Elijah. They both walked directly in front of us. Well, Charlie walked. Elijah sprinted. I can't recall what Lexi talked about when they got to her, but Lij recognized someone sitting in front of him and he gave them hugs. After Lexi made the introductions, they all filed out past us and back down the passage way. I had a feeling they were in the balcony or maybe leaving. Come to find out the latter was true...at least in Elijah's case. Besides, how many times can one watch the movie they're in...no matter how good it is?

And it was good.

It's a relief to know that the idea of starting a petition was worth all the time and troubles. It was great! Lexi has made one hell of a movie for someone so green in the industry. She knew how to tug at your heartstrings, and then make you laugh. It was violent, bloody and shocking with use of the "C" word coming at you constantly. Charlie was phenomenal. I don't know where he got the inspiration to be so good, and so bad in one movie. Maybe from Lexi's great directional cues? And Elijah? Nothing less than his usual talented self spread across the screen. He completely transformed throughout the movie from the wide-eyed innocent cherubic soul, to a nasty kick-ass do or die hero. I left the theater feeling I had been in a wild brawl, but without one scratch or cut.

After the movie was over to applause from the audience, we walked down the hall and saw Charlie talking with some people. It didn't take us long to bring out the cameras and wait to have some time with him, all the while we were looking out for Elijah to show.

Yeux and Charlie

What a cutie-pie he is. Give me a man with a British accent, and I'm melting. We introduced ourselves and he was very interested in what we had done. He's just simply charming. We tore ourselves away from Charlie and head downstairs to see Deborah and Terence. Ban and Joanie introduced themselves to them, and then our group was introduced.

I spot Lexi gleaming in the corner and drag Yeux over to her. Ban and Joanie followed. Lexi recognized Ban right off and gave her a hug. She's another wonderful person. She's so easily approachable, and not some stuck up high-brow. Very down to earth and simply amazing. She wants to introduce us to Charlie, not knowing we all ready jumped all over him introduced ourselves.

We are still looking for Elijah, but he's no where to be seen. We decide to leave for the after party. Outside a group of guys are chanting the GSE Hooligans call.

We hail a taxi and in no time we were at the Marquee where the after party is, and loads of people outside waiting to get in. I stepped from the taxi feeling sort of like someone important. Just my little glimmer of stardom. Not a minute passes by and Lexi's limo pulls up right behind us with Charlie and Terence inside, but not Elijah. He's still missing in action. Lexi spots us right away and pulls Charlie in to meet us. He told her he's met us, but he still hangs around to talk to us. And talk, and talk, and talk. We were taking up all the guy's time, but did we care?

We got pictures and autographs which he was more than happy to do. Lexi calls to Charlie to get inside and get things started, but nooo. He wanted to stay and talk with us.

"You go in, and get things going. I want to talk with them for a while."

He actually said this, and then we felt on top of the world.  Lexi asks us are we waiting to see Elwood. Yes, she called him Elwood. We said we haven't seen him. Lexi said he should be here soon.

Of course I was inhaling one of my clove cigarettes and Charlie smelled it. He asked me if they were cloves and I said yes.

Charlie: Tell, you what. Let's make a deal. If I give you one of my cigarettes, will you give me one of yours?
Me: Sure, no problem.

He whips out his pack in a nice metal carrying case and hold them open for me to take one. I open my pack and let him take one of mine. I stick his in my pocket, keeping it for a souvenir, and he starts to smoke mine. I even lit it for him. Someone in our group has those pictures, so get them to me right away. With 4 of us taking pictures that night, there are a lot more than what I have to show.

He asked us where we are from and we talk about where he's from and he went into a whole spiel of his life in England. He's now living in the states and working on another movie, which is why he has the cool hair cut now. Ban asked is she could rub it...his hair that is, and he obliged.

My attempt to get all of us in the picture while I was posing for it.

This pic is from Yeux.

There are a lot more pictures of us with Charlie as a group, and whoever has them, get them to us right away. Again, we tear ourselves away from Charlie. I'm still looking for one more limo to pull up with a wee little blue-eyed guy inside, but he's being fashionably late.

I knew before we got there this was a night club. Lots of people, dark atmosphere, drinks, and very loud music. You know? A nightclub. The others didn't expect it to be like that. They were looking for a more intimate affair. They had appetizers spread throughout the club. There were two big screen televisions showing the movie, and the music was really good.

There was an upstairs lounge guarded by the goon squad and this is where we suspected Lexi and Charlie had disappeared to. We wondered if we missed Elijah coming in or if he was all ready there. Ban checked out the DJ booth seeing if Lij was picking tunes from his Ipod, but he wasn't.

The time was getting late, and still not one sight of Elijah. Joanie was getting worried she would miss him again after not being able to stay in Orlando long enough to see him there. I told her to stay a little while longer. I'm glad she did.

I was out on the small patio having a smoke and Yeux joined me. Joanie comes to the door saying "He's here!" I guess Elijah finally showed up about an hour or so after we got there. We walked in and there he was standing with Lexi, Charlie, Terence and the whole Odd Lot group. And yes, as you know Pam was with him.

I don't know who this guy is in the red shirt, but he was taking all of Elijah's time, which left us with little. Joanie finally got fed up with the blabber mouth and tugged Elijah's shirt to get his attention. You go girl!

Joanie had the chance to talk to Pam and had to say she's just adorable.

We knew that Lexi wanted us to meet Charlie, so we figured she would do the same with Elijah. We stood off to the back and waited for her to introduce us. He came over and shook all of our hands, (the old double handed handshake) and introduced himself as Elijah. Yeah, like we don't know who you are. I told him I met him in Orlando, but I don't think he remembered. I couldn't blame the guy. How many people has he met over the past month? But he was so nice and thanked us for doing what we did.

Elijah was being pushed and dragged in every direction so we let him on his way. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to ask him some questions. I wish we had the same kind of time with Elijah as we did with Charlie. A little while passed, and we got him to sit in a corner as we pulled out all the things we wanted him to sign and give to him. Thank goodness he had his knapsack with him.

Yeux and Elijah

Elijah and I.

After we got all of our things signed, we went outside to get some air on the smokers patio. Not too long after, the goons came out to look around and saw it was packed out there. I guess too packed because Joanie said Lij had his smoke inside the club. I guess not everyone has that privilege of going outside to smoke. It was then I realized I had forgot to have Lij sign one more thing and to give him a music CD that a friend and I went grey over to make for him. I went back in and he was still in the same spot crowded by people. I tapped him on the shoulder and told him that I forgot to have him sign something. He was more than happy to do it of course. I got a bit of relief when he told me he remembered me from Orlando, saying I was coming to the after party. To paraphrase him again.

"I thought I remembered you from somewhere."

He signed the card and I gave him the CD which he thanked me for and slipped it in his bag. I hugged him and gave him another kiss quickly.

I went back outside feeling extremely dizzy. I'm sure it was not just the alcohol. At that time, I needed to sit down. We went back in and I sat in the same corner Elijah was still hung up in. Once more, Mr. Goon told me I had to move, because Elijah was about to leave out that way. I didn't think so, but I moved anyway. We decided we had enough and left the club...and Elijah.

there is more in my journal if you care to read.

YES! i'll have to guess-timate and say it was wall to wall people spilling out into the back patio and possible upstairs.... let's say about 500 maybe 700 people there. and this was a relatively small club.

Okay….where to begin.  After reading all the great write-ups from Primula, Dee and Yeux, there’s not much left to be said, but I’ll try my best.

I met up with the ladies at the hotel around 3:30 p.m. and we then headed to the subway for our little trip to Union Square.  As soon as we exited the subway, Yeux spotted a Virgin Megastore and we immediately went in so she and Dee could purchase the Everything Is Illuminated soundtrack (same poster on the cover, by the way).

After that, we grabbed a quick bite to eat directly across from the theater so we can keep an eye on how things were progressing there.  After a while we began to notice workers setting up the red carpet and putting up barriers.  We decided that it would be a good idea to stick around since we didn’t know how this kind of thing worked.  Good thing we did!  The security guys (who rivaled the Secret Service!) starting putting barriers up around us and they told us that this is the line for entry into the theater.  We hit the jackpot!!  We were the first in line and had a great view of the red carpet.  So we all had our cameras out, but no one was showing.  It was getting closer to 7:00 p.m. so security told us that they would be letting us into the theater.  Ohh noooo!!    We hadn’t seen anyone on the red carpet and thought for sure now we would miss seeing everyone.

So in we go and each of us checks in at the desk they set up right inside the lobby.  We hung around because at that point we saw the photographers flashing cameras and knew someone had arrived.  Terrence Jay was the first person we saw and he had on the most unbelievable jacket.  It was red velvet with colorful embroidered flowers all over it.  Awesome!  He wasn’t bad to look at either.   At that point, security “politely” told us we had to go on upstairs to the theater.

We picked great seats right in front of a walkway, first row in the upper section.  We were waiting for Elijah to show up and finally the cast, producers and Lexi entered the theater, but we couldn’t see Elijah.  Suddenly, we all heard him laugh and we all looked at each other and said simultaneously “that’s Elijah!”.  When I caught my first full glimpse of him, my first impression was tall and extremely thin.  It was such a strange feeling to finally see him in the flesh.  Too weird if you get my drift.  Deborah del Prete, one of the producers, introduced herself and thanked her staff, cast, crew and director for all their hard work.  She also thanked the fans for all they had done to get this picture out there and hoped that word of mouth would spread and make the film successful.  She then introduced Lexi who then in turn introduced the three boys.  When Elijah was introduced he sprinted across the theater right in front of us and gave Lexi a big hug.  Then they all left the theater so the film could begin.

Since I had already seen the film at Tribeca, I was looking forward to seeing it again and really enjoy it.  The film was better the second time around.  See Dee’s review.  It’s amazing to me that this film was created and directed by strong, creative women!

After the film ended (too much applause from the audience) we headed out of the theater, figuring…okay, I guess we go to the party now?  As we were heading for the escalator we spotted Charlie Hunnam talking to some folks.  He is so thin and tall and had this wicked crew cut.  He is such a cutie!  Primula and Yeux said a few words to him and then we headed downstairs to the lobby where, we discovered, most of the action was!  Except…….no Elijah.

I then spotted Deborah Del Prete of Odd Lot and introduced myself and then the rest of the group.  Terrence was also with her.  She thanked us profusely for all the hard work that the “petition ladies” had done for the film and was happy we were able to make it.

I then spotted Lexi from a distance and went over to her and reintroduced myself since we had met at Tribeca.  She then spotted Primula and instantly remembered her from the LA Femme Festival in LA and gave her a big hug.  She is such a wonderful, down to earth person and she was thanking us for all we did for the film in trying to get it distributed.  We had a short discussion about how Hollywood works and why there are so many crappy films out there that don’t deserve distribution and those that do get left behind.  She kindly took pictures with all of us (from several different cameras) and then we proceeded to hail a cab to the Marquee.

Once we arrived, we hung out in front of the club to see if Elijah would finally show up.  A big limo pulled up right behind us with Lexi, Terrence, Charlie and Deborah inside.  Lexi immediately summoned Charlie to go and introduced himself to us.  She told him we were the “petition ladies” and he said “I know about you guys!” and immediately thanked us for all our hard work, etc.  He was such a sweetheart.  He hung out with us for a very long time and asked where we were all from one by one.  He then asked how we had all met each other and we all answered “the internet”!  He said that was so cool!  He was so interested to hear our petition story and so we gave him the whole spiel.  Dee then exchanged ciggies with him and he signed some items for us.  Man, he became my new “best friend”!   He’s such a handsome and charming fellow.

Inside the club it was pretty loud and dark.  The video for “One Blood” was looping on two big video screens.  It looked awesome (too bad we couldn’t hear it over the DJ’s music).  We scouted the area to see if Elijah was there, but no luck.

So we went to the bar to get some drinks.  I again spotted Deborah and asked her when her “star” was due to arrive.  She advised that he would be there soon.  At that point, I again thanked her for inviting us and she said to me that the petitions were an inspiration for them to do something about it themselves.

The club had a back room with another bar and this is the room where most of the cast, producers and such were hanging out.  Out the back door was the smoking area.  Yeux and Dee went there for a smoke occasionally.  Terrence was back there most of the time.  He showed us his awesome tattoo that he just got on his arm.  It was a cross with “One Blood” above it written in Celtic lettering.  Awesome!  I was able to meet Deborah’s assistant Sara, after Yeux had located her and brought me to meet her.  What a sweet girl.  So full of energy.  She was so happy to finally meet us at last!

After about 1 ½ hours of waiting, I decided to head out for some fresh air in the front of the club.  After a short while, I saw a black sedan pull up to the front of the club and all of a sudden it was like the President of the U.S. had arrived!  Security guys swarmed over the car and made a clear way near the entrance to the club for its passengers.  First person I saw get out of the car was Pamela Racine, who I recognized immediately.  Elijah came out of the car from the opposite side.  They had an entourage with them, mostly women, who I suspect were friends of Pam’s since she was chatting with them most of the time in the club).  They whisked the whole lot of them into the club (Primula and I were close behind them following them into the back room).  Well, I don’t have to tell you how mobbed the room became at that point.

I was trying to get past the crowd so I could go out to the smoking room and tell the ladies that Elijah had arrived, but in order for me to do that, I had to work my way right past Elijah.  I literally had to put my hand on his shoulder to move him a little bit so I could pass and I said “excuse me” and he just looked at me and smiled.  I melted right then.   So back in we all came and we are trying to get his attention, but no luck whatsoever.  He was with Pam and I was watching how they interacted with each other.  They confirmed it for me…….they are indeed a couple….no doubt about it.  They were so lovey-dovey and were all over each other.  Then this guy (which I have since learned was Lexi’s nephew) was chewing Elijah’s ear off non-stop for about 15 minutes (I kid you not!).  This guy would just not shut up!  I was getting pissed.  Deenan told me to just interrupt since I was a New Yorker, after all, but I didn’t want Elijah to think I was rude.   Finally I had an opening and got his attention.  Well, you’d think I was about to kill him or something.  This woman came out of nowhere to ask me who I was and what I wanted (she was not pleasant).  I asked her if she was his assistant and she told me she was his publicist.  I then proceeded to explain to her what we four wanted to talk to Elijah about.  She then turned friendlier and told me to wait by the bar and she would have Elijah come to us in a few minutes.

She was true to her word and Elijah proceeded to come to us and he introduced himself (duh, like really??), shaking hands with each of us, and we in turn introduced ourselves.  He thanked us for all we had done for the film.  I asked him if he was exhausted from so much traveling and promotion of two films and he answered “I’m doing okay”.  Don’t remember what was said after that.  He had beautiful eyes, even though I really couldn’t see the color too well, being in such a dark place.  I then asked him if he would sign a few things.  Elijah then asked “where should we go?” and I said “let’s go over there”, pointing to the booth type seats behind him where there was a small table for him to write on.  The dear boy takes direction very well!!

He signed what I brought for him and something for my daughter as well.  I told him that I thought he was a phenomenal actor and enjoyed all his movies since he was a child, GSH and also how much I was looking forward to EII.  He chuckled and graciously thanked me.  I took a picture with him, wished him much success on his new record label and gave him an impromptu hug.  He felt so thin and bony, I just wanted to take him home and feed him.  My motherly instinct kicked in.  Then it was the other ladies’ turn.  Security was all over him and there were so many people in that one room who wanted to talk to Elijah that I was getting nervous.  Frankly, I don’t know how he does it.

Anyway, as Elijah was busy with the rest of the ladies, and the security guys were giving me dirty looks, I saw Pam with her friends and decided I wanted to say hello to her to see what she was like.  Well, I am very happy to say that she was gracious and very friendly.  I told her that I thought her band was great and looked forward to when they would play again in the city, since I was a fellow New Yorker.  She thanked me.  I then asked her if she was in EII and she mentioned that she had a small part in it.  She said, “I’m the one with the big drum in the background”.  I immediately remembered that perhaps that's the scene when Jonathan arrives on the train?  Don't know for sure.  I told her I look forward to seeing the film and she told me it was a wonderful film and that I would enjoy it very much.  I thanked her for her time and she then thanked me again and gave me a two-handed handshake.  I see now what Elijah sees in her.  Actually, upon first impression, she’s quite like him in some ways……warm, cordial and accommodating.

At that point, I wanted to hit the road, so I went back to where Elijah was and thanked him again for his time knowing how busy he was and he said no problem at all and gave me a two-handed handshake and gave me a big smile.  What a doll!  We all then left the club.

I have to say that it was quite surreal to hear these folks “fawn” (for lack of a better word) over us because of what was done.  They were so gracious and accommodating.  Again, I want to say how wonderful it was to see Dee again and to finally meet Yeux and Primula.  We all hit it off very well……like we knew each other for years!  Thank you ladies!  This is a night I will remember for a long, long time.
