I guess it's an in-joke, but I don't get it. (Especially since all music biz people have been very respectful to me...)

I don't really get it either. Why use it online where it can be read by people outside your own circle of friends? Is it a specific reference to Elwood's female fans?

I actually kind of get it. I have been in the music buisness for a long time (I play the bass, and have been involved in several bands and projects), and the whole music scene is very dominated by men. I have learned to understand the humour and way of speaking, but it's often very "manly", if you know what I mean. It's not intentionally disrespectful, it's only their way of speaking and joking, as has already been pointed out. I remember that I in the beginning was very annoyed with it, but now I'm being called "one of the guys". I even find myself making those (stupid) male jokes at times... I spend waaaaay to much time with men....!

Hay pixie, you sound like me. I have never had girlfrinds I have always been one of the lads, and I spent all my teen years hang n out with rock bands where I lived. I was never in a band just a music nut lol.

Oh... thanks billin11 and Zip! It's like I've grasped the concept in mind but can't quite get the whole picture because it's not really part of my own experience. Ah, I get it now.
I'll be your girlfriend, too!

i agree with u guys that elijah wouldn't say sumthing to offend us but i think that he has people who are working on the site not just him and plus we can't really say that we wouldn't say that because we dont no him personally and we can't really assume anything.

Quote from: Yeux de bleu on September 04, 2005, 07:52:56 pm Thanks for the link! The article lets you post comments, and here's what I posted:
I am pleased to read about Elijah's initiative and enthusiasm in his creative pursuits. Since I admire him most for his acting career, I find it especially exciting and impressive that he is attempting to produce his own movie. I hope he is able to materialize his vision!
About the "bitches" comment, I never once thought the term was referring to females. I've heard guys call each other bitch as a humorous, irreverent way to greet each othe. Anytime I've heard Elijah make a reference to his fans, he always spoke of them with gratitude, so I really don't think the comment was aimed toward the fangirls. As someone mentioned earlier, some web designer friend of Elijah's is probably the one who wrote that comment anyway.

Thank you so much for the link, Yeux!
I love what you wrote down, Withy.... I think it's great that his fans are very supportive of the various plans that Elijah has set before him whether it's to set up a record label or a radio show or even producing/directing.
