Quote from: butterfly_gone_wrong_812 on July 27, 2003, 03:40:30 pm Did anyone know he was a rapeist? Allice was one of his victoms, stupid child molester.
| Wtf are you on about? No, he was NOT a rapist (without the 'e', thanks) and I don't know why you insist on saying that.. There is no - and there has never been - evidence that he ever abused *any* child.

| Oh, so you live in Arlington, Texas, do you? If that's the case..the lady is on some serious drugs because what you're saying is not true in the slightest.

I did my poet/author speech on him in English this past year. We had to pick two poems of our person and i choose. Jabberwocky and The Walrus and the Carpenter! But my fave of his is MY Fairy. I'll go look for it and post it here for you all! lol He is one of the greatest authors/poets of all time, i believe.

Good Site on him.
'My Fairy'
I have a fairy by my side Which says I must not sleep, When once in pain I loudly cried It said "You must not weep" If, full of mirth, I smile and grin, It says "You must not laugh" When once I wished to drink some gin It said "You must not quaff".
When once a meal I wished to taste It said "You must not bite" When to the wars I went in haste It said "You must not fight".
"What may I do?" at length I cried, Tired of the painful task. The fairy quietly replied, And said "You must not ask".
Carroll was not a rapist he just could relate to kids better than adults.

he definitley was a total genius, there are very few people who can write and be read and enjoyed by both children and adults. he's one of my favourites and i dont believe any of those accusations. Besides, there isnt any way of proving anything that happened in the 19th century-(or in the case of the grimm bros the 18th century) and if any of it *was* true (which it isnt) their work would have been banned back then and probably not even re-released. so i wouldnt believe any of it for a second:)!
thanks for the link CrimsonRose!
