The Year My Life Went Down the Loo

This book is so fab...I love it! It's about a girl who moves from Seattle to England for a year because of her father's job... It's by Katie Maxwell... I went to her site, katiemaxwell.com to see when the new book would be out... Apparently this one isn't supposed to be out until September, but you can find a few early copies at Barnes and Nobles... Anyway. It says Katie loves getting email, so I wrote her a letter... She wrote back! ! Haha, I was sooo excited... Read it, read it!
Hi Bridget!
Aw, many thanks for the lovely warm fuzzies about LOO. I'm so glad you liked it. I adore the Angus books, so you made a good choice there, too! I appreciate the e-mail! I always love to hear from readers, and yes, I'm sorry, the next Emily book won't be out until January. I just finished writing the third one last week, and that'll be out in April (I think...it may be May, I keep forgetting the pub date). Bridget, Bridget, Bridget, you are positively psychic! Yes, indeed, Emily does have a bit of a thing for Orli, and she goes into full Legolass mode in THEY WEAR *WHAT* UNDER THEIR KILTS?, so you should get both an Emily and an Orlando fix at the same time. <g> Now! This is very cool--because you're one of the first people to have read LOO, I have a request for you. The books aren't really supposed to be out until September 2nd, but my publisher made a special arrangement with B&N to have them out a bit early, which is why you stumbled across it. LOO is launching a new YA line called Smooch, and my publisher wants to get the word out about LOO and the other Smooch books (they will be out one a month after September). The manager of public relations, Leah Hultenschmidt, is inviting everyone who read and liked LOO to write a review of it to be put up on the brand new SMOOCH site (at www.smoochya.com). The Smooch site isn't up yet, but it will be going live between now and August 1st, and there will be a section for people to post reviews of the books on the message boards. There's also talk about forming a comittee of readers who will get books in advance, but I'm not sure if that's absolutely happening or not. So, long story short (yeah, I know, too late!), if you'd like to write a review of LOO to be put up on the Smooch site--no pressure here, feel free to say no--you're welcome to do so and either hold onto it until the message boards are live, or send it to me or Leah (her e-mail addy is lhulten@dorchesterpub.com). Many thanks again for the nice comments about LOO. I had a great time writing that book, and I'm always happy to hear when someone enjoys it. Best, Katie
*squeals* Ahhh.... I can't wait till the next book, coming out in January ....An Emily AND an Orli fix! Good God, this woman must be able to read minds.. Anyway. If you liked Angus, I definitely recommend this... Find it, read it!

Ohh, yay! That book sounds good..especially since it mentions Orlando Bloom (right?).. And you know I'm with you on lovin' those British books!
I'm at the website right now and hopefully I'll be able to find the books tomorrow. I'm going to return some library books and go to B&N so maybe I'll have some luck

Lol! I know! I hate when stuff like that happens. Like I'll be typing something especially long on here and then I'll click post and it will take forever and then finally say "Error" ...omg...ARG! Or I'll press backspace one to many times and it will spaz.
