I only meant it as an example of G rated fanfiction. You could do the same thing with Harry Potter. I'm afraid I've never read any Harry fanfic because everything I've seen is slash. I'm SURE there's G out there.
An idea is EASY! I have more ideas than time to write them. What would you like to see Harry and his friends do? You can make them do anything you want. Get the idea, then write notes on how the story will go. then you go back and flesh it out and you have a fanfic. Easy.
LOTR is Lord of the Rings, three big movies Elijah was in, among others? I'm sorry. I thought if you were here you were an Elijah fan and knew what that was.
Hugs, Rach - who hopes you will try

Ladies, could we please stay on topic? This is a thread about "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", not about writing fanfiction.

I always buy the children's edition/cover of the Harry Potter book and I will continue for Deathly Hallows. I don't see the point in spending more money for an adult book cover. Also I am proud to read HP, I have nothing to be ashamed of.

I prefer the children's cover myself, I think they're more cheerful. I only own the children's versions. The adult covers are too dark for my taste.

I live in the US and we only have one cover...I guess it could be considered more of a children's cover. Personally I think it's kind of silly to release an adult cover because it doesn't change any of the book content...
|
Sort of is such a harmless thing to say, it's just a filler, it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things sort of means everything - like after "I love you" or "You're going to live."

I agree with you! The only reason I could think of to release an adult cover might be to make some people feel less self-conscious about carrying a Harry Potter book onto the train.
The question about whether JKR wants to write another book after book 7 keeps coming up.. I think it's totally unnecessary (even though I am a little sad about the series ending). She had always planned on writing 7 books and as we know: 7 is the special number.. seven books, a seven part soul, seven Weasley children
I am SO glad that HP 6 comes out just after my exams are finished!

It said in the Jonathan Ross interview that JKR planned to take a break after the book was published, and I hardly blame her! She also said that the book would be a 'bloodbath', and more than two characters die, which sort of throws a lot of theories off...And she says the story comes to a 'definate end' and although she was reserved about saying she was never going to write any more HP, she said it was highly unlikely.
So looking forward to this book!

A bloodbath? Interesting. Sounds as though I will need a box of tissues handy whilst reading.
