I personally like the French version's cover - looks quite bleak and art-y. I didn't think the cover of the UK children's version was particularly good.

I like both versions of the cover. Although I think the French one is a bit more for adults. What I like about the Dutch version is the patronus in between JK Rowlings name. That's really cool .

The Dutch version is nice.
I looked at my cover when I was downstairs today and I'm sure that Harry is reaching up to catch the Elder Wand as Voldemort falls over (you have to look inside the jacket to see as much of him as there is) and in the background, you can see some shadowy people who are watching from near the walls.

I don't think we have children's and adult versions in the US. I've never seen a cover other than the orange one with which we are all familiar.

Remember, the ceiling of the Great Hall is enchanted to look like the sky outside, so it's not surprising that it wouldn't look like a regular ceiling. (I've been listening to the books on tape - I'm a little over half done with Book 4 now so that helps me remember some more of these details. )

Some interesting news from mugglenet....And this is not a joke, go to the website if you don't believe it.
"2,000 lucky fans had the opportunity to interact with JK Rowling this evening at Carnegie Hall. The reading was rather eventful, as Jo revealed a lot of new information previously unknown about the series.
The most notable news of the night was the revelation of Dumbledore's sexuality. Jo says Dumbledore was gay and in love with Gellert Grindelwald. JK, in response to the audience's reaction, said "If I had known this would have made you so happy, I would have told you years ago."
Not quite as head-turning, but equally significant, Jo announced Neville Longbottom's marriage with Hannah Abbott. Hannah became the new landlady of the Leaky Cauldron.
Other heart-warming (ha!) news was revealed about Petunia Dursley. The night Harry left Privet Drive, Petunia wanted to tell Harry, "I know what you're up against and I hope it turns out okay."
Stay tuned, more to come soon!"

Sort of is such a harmless thing to say, it's just a filler, it doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things sort of means everything - like after "I love you" or "You're going to live."

Interesting news daadsta! Neville and Hannah? Nice. I knew there was more to Petunia than meets the eye. I never used to like her but now....

What da F*ck? Dumbledore was a GAY? that's so shocking! I don't know why but somehow my eyes are poped out and my mouth is like a big 'O' right now!
Neville and Hannah was nice and what Petunia said was obviously something not very sweet..it's like she forced herself to say something
Yay! I'm waiting for more!! Who0ho0!

Oddly enough, I'm not surprised about Dumbledore. TO be honest, I don't know that I care that he's gay. It doesn't seem to have a lot to do with the story, to me. I thought he was just very good friends with Gellart. Well, you live and learn.
Hugs, Rach

Dumbledore makes sense, i had always just thought of him as this stand alone figure... it had never even crossed my mind to wonder about his love life. I think it's good though, J.K Rowling is doing good things for tolerance with her books.

Yeah I don't really care at all that Dumbledore is gay. It doesn't have much to do with to do with the actual story so it shouldn't bother people like it is. I know people who are actually refusing to let their kids read the books now. I think it's ridiculous, but whatever floats your boat....
