Les Miserables by Victor Hugo is my favorite book of all time. It is just heart wrenching, and says so much about human beings, and it's a really good story. I also love LOTR, and Harry Potter, and Eragon.
For now I'm mostly reading lighter stuff, like detective novels. I love Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, and other detective/medical mystery type stories.

My favorite book of all is the Bible. It has had a major impact on every aspect of my life. But next to the Bible (which I personally consider more than "just" a book) my all time favorite books are the Anne of Green Gables series (and anything else by LM Montgomery). I also love classics such as Sign of the Beaver, Shades of Grey, Little Britches, Little House on the Prairie series, Carry on Mr. Bowditch...I could go on and on. Can you tell I love to read.

All of the Harry Potter series. I read the Half Blood Prince this summer and I loved it! My favorite of the series is the Goblet of Fire. These are such amazing books and I can't stop reading them!

I just finished reading "Touching Spirit Bear." My sister recommended it to me awhile ago and now I finally read it. It's such an amazing story. A very incredible lesson I learned. It made me cry and laugh and think. The auther (oops I forgot his name please forgive me Lol, I'll look at the book later) writes with so much detail. So in the nasty parts (not too nasty, but I won't spoil it for you) he writes every bit of it. and when the character comes close to death on different occasions the author actually describes it and it just made me appreciate life more.

Quote from: Sproker06 on December 09, 2005, 10:59:23 pm Hands down, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. She has such a brilliant style. Everything about her writing is beautiful from the language to the settings.

I love her! I always feel so classy and sophisticated when I read her. My mom got me into her. "Pride and Prejudice" is probably my favorite.
I know it seems a bit childish at first glance, but there really is more to it than meets the eye: "Harriet the Spy" is one of the greatest books I have read. The characters are so eccentric and fascinating! This book really made me want to be a writer.
"The BFG". I'll read absolutely anything by Roald Dahl ("Charlie & the Chocolate Factory", "The Witches", "The Twits", "Danny: Champion of the World", etc.) but this is my all time favorite of his. It's classic. I've even christened my boyfriend "the BFG" because he's so tall. Hee hee!
The Harry Potter books are amazing! I finished the latest one not too long ago! So sad! But I didn't cry (even though my favorite character died!); I just lay still for a very long time....
Ah! I almost forgot! "Maurice" (pronounced "Morris") by E.M. Forester. This is - words can't even describe! Stunning; blew me away!

also i reckon the first harry book is the worst. it's so much explaining stuff and not much story... so i think if ur already reluctant you should just go straight to the second. i read the 2nd first just because i couldn't get my hands on a copy of the first.
