Can I please Join too?? I've read them once before but I was thinking of reading them again anyway, and the schedule is a very good idea, keeps us all on track.
|
Thanks Annie

Oh, what a lovely idea.
I like the Schedule, and after we've finished reading each bit, we can perhaps chat about what we've read.

Quote from: Rose on October 23, 2005, 11:16:45 pm Thank you so much for making a schedule, Critiel!! I printed it off and am going to actually use the printed off copy as a bookmark. I am so excited to see so many of you joining us! I can't wait to start reading and discussing FOTR!
|
What a great idea to use the copy as a bookmark! I think I'll steal that idea I bought myself brand-new copies of the books, including The Hobbit. One of my brothers have the books I read when I was 12. They're probably worth something now

It's great to see so many people joining. It's going to be a lot of fun to read and discuss the books with all of you.
By the way, I made this thread sticky, so it'll remain on top of the page for as long as we're reading

I think it's a geat idea that you're doing this Book Reading Club. Will become a yearly thing? Like you'll do it every year? If so November/December are the best times to do it because the films came out in December so it'd be like celebrating both Tolkien's and Jackson's AMAZING work. I'd like to join next year if you do, do it again.

I don't know if there will be enough people who want to read LotR every year but we can, when people are interested, read other books by Tolkien like The Hobbit or The Silmarillion. Especially the last one could be interesting because it's a difficult book that might be easier to read together with other people.

Cristiel, that would be fantastic!!! The Silmarillion is a quite hard reading and it would help if we all read it at once!!
