They left a lot of the science out of the movie. I plan on reading the book at some point.

The book is FANTASTIC. SO much better than the movie..alot DIFFERENT than the movie.
Read it...anyone that hasnt. its awesome:)

I'm reading it at the moment...I tend to skip the sciencey stuff that dont interest me to read the exciting bits. It's taking me a while to get into, but is quite good.
Was nasty when that baby's face got eaten off though.

I read it twice. The second time I read it, I skipped the beginging with all the science stuff.

I loved the film, and then I discovered the book! I think the book is way much better! You get more "into" the whole thing!

Well... I guess that is also very common... it happened with LOTR as well...And usually those changes are not for the better.

True. LOTR was really extreme.
They made some changes to be able to make a second (and third?) film. That's so stupid I think!

Sometimes as a movie ends you can really see that they have just prepared the way for at least a second one...
