I just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It must have been one of the most tear dropping endings to a book I've ever read.
The story is about a young girl called Liesel who has to move in with some foster parents in a small German town during the second world war. She meets different people and develops a habbit of stealing books while just trying to survive the war like everyone else.
The story contains sad parts, thrilling parts and fun parts. It's really a wonderful story and I recommend it to everyone.

Marit- a lot of people are reading The Book Thief now-a-days, I have the book from the library but didnt got a hold to read it yet. To busy with exams soon coming up
Anyways, the last book I just finished is Kiss Me Kill Me by Lauren Henderson. It was okay. The ending was nothing as I expected. Its not like the fairytale everyone will like ;P

Marit - I'm glad you liked 'The Book Thief' - I read it for the first time years ago and I keep going back to it. Raquel - I hope you have time to read it after your exams!
The last book I read was 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' by Jonathan Safran Foer. His writing is so deep.

I finished this a while ago, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. This was a truly amazing story. It almost brought tears in my eyes, but I hold it in.

Congrats on your exam results Raquel!
I read "Twilight" a while ago, and wasn't overly impressed (as I think I posted here).
Now call me a sucker for punishment ( ) but I recently finished the other three books in the series, and I have to say they were... okay. That's about it.
I enjoyed the second book the most (probably because Edward was out of the picture for most of it.:-X;) ) In general I found the storyline/s slow-moving and repetitive, and characters pretty insipid.
IMHO the exceptions are Alice and Jacob. Jacob is my favourite character, probably because Meyer imbued him a personality that allows for some 'snarky' confrontational dialogue btwn him and Bella/Edward.
Without him, there wouldn't have been any dramatic tension in the books at all. Even the tension that DOES exist is lessened by the fact that we ALL KNOW who Bella will end up with, and what she'll become. There's no sense of: "OMG - what's gonna happen now??"

I recently finished Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Sanfran Foer, and The Kite Runner with the rest of my English class. (I then rented the movie last weekend ^^)
Both books are amazing, and for some reason reminded me both of one another. Heh.
The Kite Runner is now one of my favorites!

Oh, is it good? I saw half of the film at the weekend, just have to watch the last half, but I'm thinking of reading the book too.

^ Good - it wouldn't really be the sort of thing I'd normally choose, but I had a friend over who brought it to watch. It was really sad, though.
I finished 'Journey to the River Sea' by Eva Ibbotson yesterday, love it.

Tales of the Frog Princess: Dragon's Kiss! I've recently finished it today... now I shall read the rest of the series! Starting with The Frog Princess, of course.
All I need now is a Borders or Barnes&Noble.
