^ I actually think he's really funny and intelligent, but I haven't read any of his books. Might give them a go if I see them though.
Finished 'The Vicarage Children' by Noel Streatfield. Sounds preachy but is actually quite good.

Hate is too used a word, I don't like him as a person. He isn't funny either in my opinion.
Just finished Silenced by Vicky Jaggers

It's been ages since I've posted here! My reading has slowed right down, which is sort of a shame - I just never seem to have the time any more. I have just finished a book for my Irish course, called Cosa Nite...quite good.

Wow, I haven't written here in over a month! I just don't seem to have the time for lots of reading any more, other than course texts and translation pieces, lol! Though I've had a long weekend and finished 'Millions' by Frank Cottrell Boyce - it's aimed at people probably younger than me but I still enjoy it, even though I've read it loads of times by now.

It's been such a long time since i last posted that I hope you'll all forgive the double-posting.
The last book I read was Zadie Smith's 'On Beauty'. I finished it yesterday evening - it must be about the 20th time I've read it, but it's just so relevant and evocative that I can't put it away. I know the story pretty much back to front and inside out by now but it never loses it's charm.

The last book I've finished reading was The Pigman, which I've re-read for the 2nd time. It's such a great book, I'm hoping that one day it will be made into a film, since the rights are still floating around in the air.
And the last short-story I've read was Where is Here... I think that's what it was called. Interesting story, too! ^^

I've finished 'Little Women' by L.M. Alcott yesterday - I still enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as I remembered it from when I first read it years ago. It's nice to be on holiday and have some time to read again though.

I finished 'We Are All Made Of Glue' by Marina Lewycka yesterday and I loved it - it was witty, funny and deep, and a little tragic in places. Definitely one to keep close.
