Night by Elie Wiesel. Its a chilling story of the holocaust written by a Jew who experienced it. It really makes you sad, especially the caloused thoughts that went through his mind...

Welcome to the Monkey House, by Kurt Vonnegut. But only certain stories out of it, because I'll get bored doing homework and read a story to distract me and then get back to it. Before that, it was either Flowers for Algernon or the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, I can't remember.

Oh .. the last book I red was "Zauberwald" from Garry Kilworth! The book is in German .. but in English the title is "A Midsummer's Nightmare"!! Does anybody know this book, too? I think it's really great and magical! Now I'm reading the Hobbit in english .. it isn't very easy for me, because I'm German, but I think the english version is much better than the German!

Hey, I've read that. Superclassic. I've just started a book called 'The Dante Club' wich deals with murders fashioned after Dante's inferno and some scholars busy making the firast translation of Dante into English. I don't know if it's good yet, haven't read enough for that.
Last book: ehmm.. I always read several books at the same time so those are a few: The Da Vinci Code. Anmerkungen zu Hitler, Sebastian Haffner (reread though, does that count?) Sleuteloog, Hella Haasse.(dutch book)

i just finished reading 'The Flight Of Dragons" by Peter Dickinson. it's a quick read, and very interesting. it's more of a science book than an actual story. it deals with the sociology of dragons, as well as topics including their flying abilities and whether they really existed. it was published in 1979. but it's a bit hard to find these days. i'm thinking of turning it into a screenplay. there was an animated film based on the book in the 80's, but i want to do something live-action and maybe alter a few things in the story.

I'm reading "Return of the King" right now (again!) and when I've finished that (about 100 pages to go), I'm going to read "House of Leaves" from Mark Danielewski again. I read it last summer and it's so amazing that I just have to read it again
