Out of this list I would choose Tolkien. I bet people are shocked (I actually saw the poll spelling Tolkein, can you change that?)
From this list I also like Juliet Marillier, Isabel Allende and J.K. Rowling. I'm not too fond of Marion Zimmer Bradley and Jane Austen and I don't Know Nicolas Sparks and never heard of Meg Cabot. Surprisingly little men in this little list.
Favourite writers: (well, some of them) - Mary Stuart - Umberto Eco - Gustave Flaubert - Harry Mulish - Marga Minco - George Orwell - Rosita Steenbeek - Toni Morrison - Lev Tolstoj (weee another Lev) - Paulo Coelho - Donna Tartt
And of course the already mentioned professor Tolkien There are a lot more, but I'll keep it at this for the moment.
I'm a literature junkie. Jay.

I voted for Tolkien, but if Stephen King had been on that list... well, needless to say that would've swayed me vote

Actually, I've managed to do it, but I don't know how I've already noticed it before you mentioned, but I just don't know how to modify it. That is really a stupid mistake, I don't know why I wrote Tolkein instead of Tolkien

Lol, that's ok, I thought it was probably a typo. It has just been brought to my attention that I seem to write Off course instead of of course a lot. Now, I'm not a native speaker, but that's a stupid mistake. Now I'm off to edit all my posts

I picked Tolkien out of that list. But there's so many writers I love. Anne McCaffrey, George Orwell, Orson Scott Card, David Eddings, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King, Isaac Asimov, and so many others.....I'm used to remeber the titles of the books, and not always the writers, but still. Some have a way to write that I like better.
