Valentine's Day

Hi everyone!
Valentine's day is coming up and I was kind of wondering... Do you guys celebrate it? If yes, what do you do? If no, is it because you're single or because you don't want to? And if it's because you're single, what would you like to do?
Do you buy gifts for your partner? What kind of gifts have you bought in the past and what have you ever gotten?
I'm kinda curious, because I used to hate Valentine's day, way to commercial, lol. But this year is different, my 'boyfriend' has told me he's going to buy me something and tht we'll spend the day together, so I kinda feel like I've got to buy him something  So.. I was just looking for ideas!

I think Valentine's Day is too commercial, but maybe that's just because I'm single, lol! Personally, even if I did have a boyfriend, I probably wouldn't be bothered about VD anyway - for me, it's just the same as any other day, really.
That's sweet that your boyfriend is going to spend the day with you though - but it's hard to think of what to buy him if you don't know what sort of thing he's getting you.

I've been together with my boyfriend for about two and a half years. We don't celebrate Valentine's Day in particular, we rather choose to give eachother small presents whenever we want to, or just do something nice to eachother. I think that's a much better way to show a person that you love him or her 
But I think Valentine's Day is kind of cute. Minus all the commercialness about it. Pretty much like Christmas 
What kind of stuff does he like? If he likes movies, you can either buy him one or rent one together where you buy the snacks. I'm not very much into the "I must try to guess how much money he will spend so that I don't spent too much or too little". In the big picture, if you are together for a long time, it'll even out anyway.
And if he's "the guy" he'll love you lots if you just give him a nice picture of you that he can have in his wallet or in his room

Yeah I think it's too commercial, a rose is thrice as expensive, it's not even normal, lol.
Anyways, I think you're right, Marit. It's not about the money you spend really, it's about the message you bring with your gift. But even when I look at it like that, it's still pretty hard to think of something, especially since we haven't been together for that long. I just want a gift that says I want be with him and something that's like very original, yet very simple

Me and Mark generally just go out for a meal or have a takeaway. This time we will have takeaway and bottle of rose wine

I like Valentines Day, I think it's really sweet, but I agree it probably is way too commercialized. I don't have a bf right now, but I wish I did... xD I would just love spending the day with him, and enjoying a nice romantic time... lol. But I wouldn't really know what to get him, since I don't have a bf right now.

Hi!!
We usually donīt exchange presents or things like that, but celebrate it by having dinner in a restaurant with other couple friends.

Hard to have a boyfriend? Then that can't be good relationships. I wouldn't have been without my boyfriend ever. We've been together for 2,5 years now, and I wouldn't change any of those days. Not even those where we had our disagreements.

My boyfriend told me he didn't celebrate valentines day and i was alittle disappointed but thought oh well, no big deal. I made him brownies regardless and went over his apartment last night. To my surprise he answered the door with a rose in his hand and a fancy dinner with candles and wine. As if that wasn't enough he bought me a dvd and a cd and made me a card.
It was such a nice surprise and so unexpected =]
