Okay...so maybe I just want to be cool here, but I've seen quite a few threads of people in different countries and that's neat, but...

Well...

Who's from California?

Mods, feel free to delete this if it's improper, but I'm just wondering who else is residing in the Golden State.  This is the Golden State, right?  Damn, I can't remember.

Dude.  Totally.  Let's go surfing.

Me. But curious already knew that, right?

Where in CA do you live, Curious? B/c I know you said you left LA, so where are you now?
I know you're all crazy secretive, since nobody knows your real name. But I won't stalk you, mostly because of laziness.

I live in Costa Mesa.
But most of the time I've lived here was in Santa Monica.

Oooh, SF?  Neat.  I hear that the fog there keeps people looking younger.  My dad swears by it.  It has been...ten years since I've been there.  But it was cool and all.

When are you moving to SD?  And why, if I may ask?

Shore did.

Muahahaha...I'll never tell.

No, I'm in SB.  Yeah, I'm pimpin' it up here.  My parents live in LA though so I'm going back there after graduation.

Costa Mesa?  Wow...hrm, I should really look up that place cause I'm not exactly sure where that is.  I'm really lame with geography.  Hey, I can't be good at everything.

So wait...Costa Mesa.  But you go to school in LA?  Isn't that a bit of a commute?

I used to live in Santa Monica as well.  For the first four years of my life; then it was off to LA.  Good times.

LA is crazy.  I really need to explore that city cause I don't know what there is to do there other than go to malls and crap.  I'm pretty lame where thinking up creative activities is concerned.

Hey, has anyone actually ever surfed?  I've yet to even think about trying.

Yeah, I know that the Red Hot Chili Peppers had an album called Californication, as well as a song.  I just thought it made for a good title.

You're in California, Alicia?  Cool.  Are you enjoying your time here?  What's in San Diego?

California is cool, I think.  Sometimes.  Yeah.

Er...I believe that's a common misconception, that all Californians meet celebrities.  IT'S NOT TRUE.  We don't always see them in the street.  Maybe everyone else does but me, but I doubt it.

Perhaps it's more likely to meet someone here, but it doesn't mean it will necessarily happen, that's all I'm saying.

But yeah, it's warm.  I'm gonna go sit on the grass and enjoy the sun.

Hey there,
Yes, I love SF.  And the Fog keeps me grumpier, I dont know about younger!!  I am a huge sunbunny, so fog and me don't mix.

San Diego cuz I looove it there. I am going there next week for vacation.  I have lots of friends down there, I love the city and the sun and the beach.  SD reminds me of a mix between LA and Northern Cali, the parts I like of both.

Yep, WAAAAY to long of a commute.
It wasn't so bad when I was in Santa Monica, but then I moved in with my sister.

I was born in, I think, Pasadena, but now I'm in between LA and San Diego. That's kind of good because the drive there isn't that long.

I agree with you on that, Curious. There are a lot of misconceptions and cliches of California.

Actually, where I am at in California, it's 63 F outside. So, it's not really warm.

Okay, that's cool, *{nfg}*.  I thought maybe you had family or something there.  You gonna go to Sea World?  I love that place - I need to go again!  Or the zoo - I hear it's awesome.  I haven't been down there in a while cause really...well, my friend used to live there so I used to stay with her but now I can't really afford a trip with hotels and all that; so I haven't gone.

Malin, when did you move in with your sister?  Too bad you're all the way up there - that commute sounds nasty.  I know someone who used to commute to SB from LA EVERYDAY.  Imagine that.  A two hour trip, each way.  Four hours driving, each day.  Urgh, I couldn't do it.

Tigerlily, thanks for agreeing with me.  There are a lot of misconceptions and sometimes I wonder how people think my life is, day-to-day; I want to assure them that it's not usually any more exciting than theirs.

It's pretty warm here, I think.  Oh it's 59 degrees.  Well, that's pretty warm for me.  Warm enough, at least.

Pasadena's a busy place.

Well mines not THAT bad. Screw 2 hours. I'd never do that.
My trip is about 45 mintues, dependant on traffic and the fact that I speed.

The worst part isn't the time, its the money I'm spending on gas.

People who visit LA think there's just celebs walking up and down the street with the regular folk (or as close to regular that exists in Ca).
Sad misconception.
I think I posted that in the Cliches thread a while ago.

Yes, curio. Nice weather.

Urgh, I forgot about gas!  That stuff is expensive.  What's with jacking up the prices?  Do you know it's about fifty cents more expensive here?  Glad I don't own a car, cause if I did, I'd be pissed off.  I remember when my dad used to let me use his car when he went out of town and I was so annoyed because if I drove around here, I would run out of gas and then be pissed off when I got more gas.  Sometimes it sucks to go to school in the middle of a rich city.

Hey, it adds up, over time.

It's getting colder here.  What happened?  It was all nice and warm and now...

As for 45 minutes, that's not too bad.  I wouldn't necessarily want to do that everyday, but I suppose once I start working (if anyone will hire me), then...yeah.  Long commute, at least for a while.  I want to live with my parents.  I miss them.

I was in Palm Desert a while ago, and it made me wonder why anyone would want to live there- it's so hot and humid!  I just didn't understand it.  Though those pools and stuff are nice.

I think that if I ever get a place of my own, I want to live in the valley.  Or somewhere near LA.
